Master Minghui's Thousand Buddha Temple

The Qianfo Pagoda Temple where Master Minghui is located is located in the eastern suburb of Meicheng, Meizhou City. It is a women's Dojo developed for the protection of Qianfo Pagoda, a cultural relic of the Southern Han Dynasty, and a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province.

The Thousand-Buddha Pagoda was cast in the eighth year of Dabao in the Southern Han Dynasty (AD 965). It is located in Xiuhui Temple in this city, which was moved to qi zhou Temple by state officials in the Qing Dynasty (these two ancient temples have long since disappeared). The Thousand-Buddha Pagoda has seven floors, with a height of 4.2 meters and a bottom width of 1.6 meters. It is square, with a thousand stupas, hence its name.

The Thousand Pagodas have been damaged for a long time. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Huang Zunxian, a patriotic poet in this city, collected the fragments of the pagoda and collected them in people's houses to punish the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda, and wrote the song of the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda. Starting from 1935, the county magistrate and Mr. Huang of Meixian County (now Meixian District of Meizhou City) moved the tower to Dongshanling to build an octagonal pavilion for protection. Due to the changes of the times, the iron tower is enclosed in the steel plant, which is increasingly polluted and destroyed, making it inconvenient for tourists to watch, and public opinion calls for its protection.

/kloc-in the winter of 0/989, Master Minghui returned to Xiangzi from yunmen temple, Shaoguan at the invitation of Meizhou Buddhist Association. That year, he went to the ordinary tower initiated by the master to help promote Buddhism and expand the Dojo.

1990 During the Spring Festival, initiated by Master Minghui and supported by many people, Lianhua Mountain was chosen to build a nine-story granite tower to protect cultural relics. This charity was responded by the local government and social leaders, and was immediately approved by the provincial cultural relics department to "agree to relocate and raise funds by itself".

In July of the same year, the relevant leaders of provinces, municipalities and districts, Master Yuan Che and protectors at home and abroad set up the preparatory committee for the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda. Master Minghui took the town, actively raised funds and traveled all over the world. He received enthusiastic support from overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao, and Buddhist laymen came to volunteer.

With the support of the government and donations from enthusiastic people at home and abroad, Master Shi Minghui, abbot of Thousand-Buddha Pagoda Temple, spent more than 40 million yuan to build a nine-story stone pagoda on the top of Dadongyan Mountain. With the approval of the higher authorities, the Qianfo Pagoda in the South Han Dynasty was moved to the bottom of the new Qianfo Pagoda, which was named by Zhao Puchu, chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association.

The newly-built Thousand-Buddha Pagoda is 36 meters high and has nine floors. The Thousand Buddha Pagodas are all made of granite, 9 stories high and 36 meters high, towering into the sky and imposing. The first floor of the stupa is a thousand stupas cast in the Southern Han Dynasty. The interior walls on the second to eighth floors are inlaid with thousands of white marble Buddha statues. A one-ton bronze bell was installed on the ninth floor, and thousands of small golden buddhas were stored in the inner wall of this floor. There are 3,000 Buddha statues in the tower. The top of the tower is a small and exquisite stone pagoda, which has formed the characteristics of tower under the tower, tower in the tower and iron Buddha, jade Buddha and gold Buddha, and is known as one of the wonders of pagoda architecture.

Along the tower ladder, there are corridors and railings around the stone tower for tourists to climb the railings and have a panoramic view of Meicheng. The Thousand-Buddha Hall is connected with the Jiuqu Cultural Corridor, which has become a major landscape in Meizhou and eastern Guangdong.

On February 3rd, the foundation stone was laid for the Thousand-Buddha Pagoda. 1Feb. 6, 993, the main tower was capped, the thousand-buddha pagoda was completely cast, and it was moved to the bottom of the stone pagoda for protection, and the three-story pagoda was continued to be built. The Thousand-Buddha Pagoda is made of granite, which is firm in structure, earthquake-proof, lightning-proof and windproof, and equipped with modern lighting equipment. The tower is nine stories high, 36 meters, octagonal and magnificent. There are six stone statues of the heavenly king on the first floor, and the main entrance is Pu Zhao's old plaque and couplets. From the second floor to the eighth floor, there are 32 stone buddhas on the outer wall, and thousands of white marble buddhas are embossed on the inner wall. The doors of each floor are engraved with great virtues at home and abroad, and thousands of gilded Buddha statues are enshrined on the ninth floor. A seven-story small stone tower is held up at the top of the tower, forming the characteristics that there is a tower in the tower and a tower on the tower.

Eight statues of siddhattha gotama, 42 statues of 500 arhats and 48 statues of auspicious flowers, birds and animals are carved on the stone fence around the tower. On the second floor of the tower, there are Kirin and Shishi stone carvings on both sides of the main entrance, which are exquisite in craftsmanship.

The whole pagoda building is a treasure of China's traditional culture and art, and also a symbol of Meizhou's famous historical and cultural city. The tower lights are shining high, and the name is Lingnan Pearl, and people who come to worship are in an endless stream.

Qianfo Pagoda Temple has a long history and culture. According to the Records of Jiaying Mansion in Guangxu of Qing Dynasty, Liu Ti was founded in Dabao eight years (AD 965) in Wang Nan with a history of 1000 years. The tower is divided into seven floors, 4.2 meters high and square. The bottom of the tower is1.6m long and made of pig iron. There are 250 large and small Buddha statues on each side, and the total number of four sides is 1000, hence the name "Thousand Buddha Pagodas".

The original tower was built in Xiuhui Temple. Due to the destruction of the temple, the official king of Jiaying House (now Meizhou) in the early years of Qing Qianlong moved the tower to the top of the rock in the east of Meicheng, covered it with pavilions, built railings around it, and built stone steps for tourists to watch. The Thousand Buddha Pagoda in Meizhou and the East West Pagoda in Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou are relics of the same historical era. According to each side of Meizhou Thousand Buddhas Pagoda, there are 77 Buddhas on the second floor, 67 Buddhas on the third floor, 57 Buddhas on the fourth floor, 37 Buddhas on the fifth floor and 12 Buddhas on the sixth floor, totaling 250 Buddhas on all sides.

Among the Buddha statues on the fourth floor, there is a giant Buddha on each side of the lotus pond seat. They are Shande Buddha in the East, Shitande Buddha in the South, Infinite Life Buddha in the West and Xiangde Buddha in the North. The seventh floor is the spire, with inscriptions such as Song of a Thousand Pagodas in Xiuhui Temple in Southern Han Dynasty by Huang Zunxian and Song of a Thousand Pagodas in Xiuhui Temple in Southern Han Dynasty by Qiu, which are key cultural relics protection units in Guangdong Province.
