Zhu shouchang's intention of abandoning his official position and looking for his mother

When I was seven years old, my biological mother was kicked out of the house.

Zhu Shouchang, Kang Shu. His father's name is Zhu Xun, and he was an assistant minister of industry in Song Renzong's time. His biological mother Liu is Zhu Xun's concubine. Zhu Shouchang has successively served as the magistrate of Langzhou and the secretary of agriculture and youth, with remarkable achievements. Later, he abandoned his official position to find his mother and became famous for his filial piety. Both Wang Anshi and Su Shi wrote poems praising him.

When Zhu Shouchang was seven years old, his biological mother Liu was driven out of the house because she was jealous of her biological mother, and her biological mother remarried. The first mother is Zhu Shouchang's father's wife, and Zhu Shouchang's biological mother should be the concubine of the wing.

Zhu Shouchang and his biological mother have not seen each other for fifty years after their biological mother left. This is what the poem says: "Born at the age of seven, I have been away from my mother for fifty years." "God" and "Shang" are the names of the stars in the sky. When wandering (5:00-7:00 pm) appeared in the west, Shang and Su were also called Chen Xing, and Mao Shishi (5:00-7:00 am) appeared in the east. They don't appear in the sky at the same time, which means they can't be far apart, so there is a saying of "Chen Shen You Mao".

Gradually, Zhu Shouchang grew up and became an official with his own efforts and talents. In the later days, although Zhu Shouchang's life has been very good, his biological mother has always been a thorn in his heart. There is not a child who doesn't miss his biological parents, not to mention that when his mother was forced out of the house, Zhu Shouchang was sensible and memorable. Finally, in the Song Shenzong Dynasty, Zhu Shouchang decided to give up his official position and enter the present Shaanxi-Gansu region to find his birth mother. His move also caused an uproar in China, but Zhu Shouchang firmly adhered to his decision, regardless of other people's opposition and dissuasion.

Visit the grave on a rainy day after mother died.

Before leaving home, when Zhu Shouchang said goodbye to his family, he vowed never to come back until he found his biological mother! Along the way, he went through hardships and never gave up. After Zhu Shouchang's mother left Zhujiajian Island, she married a man surnamed Dang and gave birth to several children. Later, he stayed in the same state and found his mother. At that time, his biological mother was over seventy years old. Mother and son know each other, crying, and telling each other.

Zhu Shouchang took his mother and several half-brothers and sisters home. A few years later, when his mother died, Zhu Shouchang was miserable and almost cried her eyes out. After his mother died, Zhu Shouchang took more care of his half-brother and sister. According to folklore, Zhu Shouchang's mother was afraid of thunder when she was alive, and Zhu Shouchang was afraid that her mother's undead would be scared by thunder. Every spring and summer, as long as it thunders, Zhu Shouchang lies in front of his mother's grave, guarding him day and night and storming. Since then, Zhu Shouchang's dutiful son has gained great fame.

Today, one kilometer east of Qin Lan Town, Tianchang City, Anhui Province, there is a thousand-year-old cypress, which is said to have been planted by the eldest son Zhu Shouchang next to his mother's grave. According to legend, the origin of this tree is this: Zhu Shouchang's mother was afraid of thunder when she was alive. After her death, Zhu Shouchang always went to the grave with an umbrella to protect her during a thunderstorm. After three years of filial piety, Zhao Yong of Song Shenzong honored his filial piety and resumed the position of imperial edict officer. Before leaving Qin Lan, Zhu Shouchang went to his mother's grave and planted a pine and cypress to represent him to accompany her forever. In previous stories about dutiful sons, there were also dutiful sons who either went to his mother's grave to guard his mother or held an umbrella in front of his mother's grave when it thundered. In fact, many dutiful sons' behaviors all lead to the same goal.
