Selected English Prose: Magnificent Storm
When a feeling of stillness crept into my consciousness, it began. Everything suddenly quieted down. Birds can't chirp Leaves don't rustle. Insects do not sing.
At first, a feeling of peace crept into my mind. In a flash, everything suddenly fell silent. Birds stop singing, leaves stop rustling, and insects stop singing.
The air, which has been hot all day, becomes heavy. It hangs from the tree, presses the flower head to the ground and sits on my shoulder. With a vague uneasiness, I went to the window. In the west, the answer is there-clouds pile up on the clouds, forming a mountain ridge, towering above the blue sky.
The sultry air has become particularly dull all day. It covered the trees and forced the flowers to fall to the ground, weighing heavily on my shoulders. With a faint uneasiness, I strolled to the window, and the original answer was in the western sky. Clouds overlap, like a row of rugged white towers, towering above the blue sky.
Their dazzling white lasts for a short time. Soon, the edges of marshmallows flatten to the top of the anvil, and the clouds reveal their dark nature. They started to act before sunset in the afternoon, and it was dark early. Then a gust of wind blew and raised dust along the road, indicating what was going to happen.
The dazzling white clouds disappeared in an instant. In an instant, the other side of the marshmallow-shaped cloud became as flat as an anvil, and the clouds also revealed their dark true colors. It forcibly covered the west oblique sun and made it dark early. Then, suddenly there was a strong wind and the dust flew all the way. The freezing weather indicates everything that is coming.
A door in the house slammed and curtains rolled into the room. I quickly closed the window, emptied the clothesline and fixed the furniture in the yard. Thunder began to rumble in the distance.
With a bang, the wind closed a door. Curtains are also raised in the wind and rolled into the room. I quickly closed the window, took the clothes to dry and put the furniture on the terrace. Thunder began to rumble in the distance
The first drop of rain is huge. They landed on the dust with a bang, leaving a personal mark on the window. They were banging on the ventilation pipes and banging on the roof of the terrace. The leaves trembled under their weight before rebounding, and the sidewalk was covered with a shiny spot.
At first, the water dripped down and slapped the dust. Left a mark on the glass window. Raindrops tinkled on the exhaust pipe, cracked the balcony ceiling, and the leaves were shivering and it was difficult to look up. The sidewalk is covered with sparkling water.
Speed up the pace; The banging became faster and faster until the sound turned into drums, and the water droplets became troops marching on fields and roofs. Now the first lightning strikes the earth. It's an exclamation point from heaven. The storm is coming!
The sound of rain quickened its pace, followed by a crackling jingle, and finally became a dense drum, and the raindrops gathered into an army marching on fields and roofs. At this time, the first lightning struck the earth, which was an exclamation mark drawn by God. A storm is coming.
In the next thunder, I jumped up involuntarily. It rattled the window panes and made the dog scratch to get under the bed. The next lightning bolt is closer. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end, and I left the window involuntarily.
Then there was a thunderbolt and I couldn't help jumping up. The thunder rattled the windows and scared the dog to climb under the bed. The second lightning is closer. I stood on my head in horror and took a step back from the bed.
The rain has now turned into a torrent, which is thrown by the rising wind in a capricious way. They beat the trees together to level the grass. Water flows from the roof and the rain outlet. It kept hitting the window and I couldn't see. Just water. How did so many things fall so fast? How do clouds support such a huge weight? How can the earth stand it?
At this time, the rain is pouring down, and the wind makes the rain stagger. The wind and rain raged, beating trees and leveling the grass. The rain ran down from the roof, overflowed the drain pipe and splashed on the window, making me unable to see anything clearly. There is only water in front of me. It's raining so hard. Why is it raining so hard? How can the clouds bear such a huge weight? How does the earth bear such an impact?
I walked from window to window in the house and was moved by this amazing sight. Look, how the lilacs are bent, how the day lily is flattened, and how the steps on the hillside form a new waterfall! Now hail is pounding on the roof. They reflect white light on the grass and splash into puddles. I thought of vegetable gardens, fruit trees and crops in the fields; But, thankfully, the number and size of hail are not enough to cause real damage. Not this time.
I paced up and down the room, from one window to another, and the scenery outside made me dumbfounded and amazed. You see, under the attack of the storm, lilacs bent over, day lilies fell to the ground, and the stone steps on the hillside became new waterfalls! This is a sudden hail. I banged on the roof, and in an instant, silver beads danced on the grass and water splashed into the tax pit. I began to worry about vegetables, fruits and crops in the garden. But thankfully, the hail is not big and the number is not large enough to cause any actual losses. At least not this time.
The storm has begun to pass. The tense atmosphere was released and the rain brought more sunshine. The storm has consumed most of the energy, and the rest will be consumed in the eastern countryside.
Because the storm is about to pass, the tension has eased and more light appears from the rain curtain. The storm consumes most of the energy, and there is still a little residual force that can only be exerted in the eastern countryside.
When it was still raining, I was pulled outside. Around, there is a cool and welcome feeling. I took a deep breath and watched the sun shine through the clouds. A beam of light shone on the water droplets formed on the edge of the roof, and I saw a row of tiny trembling colors-my private rainbow.
It's still raining, but I can't help going out. The environment is so fresh and suitable. I took a deep breath of fresh air and looked up at the sunshine from the ship. A beam of sunshine just reflected on the water drops on the eaves, and I saw a thin, slightly trembling seven-color ribbon? I personally appreciate the rainbow.
I carefully crossed the grass in the west, and my feet sank into the water-soaked soil. The stream in the valley flows along the river bank and is full of brown water, but the small lakes and puddles have disappeared on the ground. Every leaf, every brick, every grass, every blade of grass is freshly washed and shiny.
I walked carefully through the wet grass, and my feet fell into the rain-soaked soil from time to time. The stream in the valley is full of muddy water, but the water in those small puddles and puddles has penetrated into the ground and disappeared. Every blade of grass, every brick and pebble is spotless and shiny.
Like this land, I am brand-new and my soul is purified. I feel an infinite peace. For a while, I forgot my previous worries and anger. They were washed away by the color of the storm.
