The Historical Origin of Kaifeng Chrysanthemum

Kaifeng has a long history of cultivating chrysanthemums, which was well-known in China as early as the Northern Song Dynasty. According to the article "Tokyo Dream Record Chongyang" written by Meng Yuan-yuan in Song Dynasty, "In September Chongyang, chrysanthemums are enjoyed, and there are several subjects ... everywhere, restaurants are all tied into caves with chrysanthemums." At that time, "both the forbidden city and your family enjoyed this chrysanthemum", and "the house of scholars also enjoyed one or two plants in the city". In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the wind of raising chrysanthemums in Kaifeng became more prosperous. In the Imperial Monument of Qianlong in Yuwangtai, there is also a poem "The wind leaves are falling, and the frost flowers are white."
