What is the life of Cen Can, a frontier poet?

Cen Can (about 7 17- about 769) was originally from Nanyang (now Henan). Before the Tang Dynasty, his family had moved to Jiangling (located in today's Hubei). Cen Can's father, Cenzhi Ren Xianjin, has five sons, and the third is Cen Can. Great-grandfather Cen Wenben was the prime minister of Taizong, great-grandfather Cenchangqian was the prime minister of Wuhou, and he was the prime minister of Zhongzong and Zhongxi from Zucenxi, so he said that "the country has six leaves and our door is three-phase". Although it was a fragrant family, great changes had taken place in this family before Cen Can was born. Cen Changqian was beheaded in Dongcheng for openly opposing the establishment of Wu as a prince. His five sons were executed at the same time and their ancestral graves were dug. In the struggle between Xuanzong and Princess Taiping, Cenxi took the wrong side. After Xuanzong succeeded to the throne, Cenxi was punished, and his family was ruined and his relatives were implicated.

In the summer and autumn of the 13th year of Tianbao reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (754), Cen Can was handed over to the Northern Dynasty, and returned to the East at the turn of spring and summer in the second year of Tang Suzong to Germany (757). This poem is regarded as this period. At that time, there were frequent wars in the northwest frontier. With the ambition to contribute to the Great Wall, Cen Can went to the frontier twice and worked in the border guards for six years. Therefore, he has long observed and experienced the life of pommel horse and the ice and snow scenery outside the Great Wall. In the thirteenth year of Tianbao, this is the second time to go to the frontier fortress, and I served as the judge of Feng Changqing in the Northwest Academy (the subordinate of my envoy), while Wu's judge was his predecessor. The poet sent him back to Beijing (Chang 'an, Tang Dou) on the turntable and wrote this poem.

Cen Can was fortunate to live in an era called "the prosperous Tang Dynasty" by later generations. However, there is war in the prosperous times.

Cen Can went to the frontier twice in his life and lived in the border guards for six years.

Over the past six years, the mountains and rivers in the western regions have left Cen Can's footprints and beautiful scenery here in Cen Can's poems.

Cen Can is the most outstanding representative of frontier poems in Tang Dynasty, and his poems are heroic and magnificent. Known as the "king of western songs", it lives up to its reputation.

The magnificent scene of the northwest frontier and masculine poetic style presented in his poems are still amazing and inspiring even today.

Nowadays, the western tourism continues to be hot, reflecting people's yearning for the magnificent mountains and rivers in the northwest border.

If you don't have a chance to travel to the northwest frontier and read Cen Can's poems, you can also experience the beauty of wandering beyond the Great Wall.

Lu You spoke highly of Cen Can's poems and praised him as the first person after Li Bai and Du Fu.

The 20 famous Cen Can sentences selected here can not only perfectly show the unique scenery beyond the Great Wall, but also show Cen Can's masculine poetic style.

Cen Can took part in the Western Expedition for the first time, bid farewell to his wife who lived in Chang 'an, and embarked on a long journey as the secretary of the Gao Xianzhi shogunate. The ancient poem "Welcome to the Capital" was written on the way to Anxi.

In "Feeling Old Fu", Cen Can proudly said: "The country has six leaves, and our door has three phases." In the nearly 100 years before his birth, Cen's family had three prime ministers. His great-grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle were all famous in the ruling and opposition because of their extraordinary writing and pen and ink, which is a miracle. Cen Wenben, the great grandfather, has been following Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, in charge of confidential documents, and the official secretariat, and he was proud of the spring breeze. Du Fu did say something in the Preface to Cenjiazhou: "He was once a squire, his father was Long and Qian, and his uncle was an academic virtue, and his official was an assistant." It can be seen that the literary and ink skills of the Cen family have been recognized by the royal family for quite some time.

Cen Can spent 10 years, but he still hasn't found anyone to recommend himself. Finally, I passed the traditional examination method and was admitted to Jinshi.

After several years in North Korea, Cen Can didn't achieve much. By chance, General Gao Xianzhi entered the DPRK, which made Cen Can determined to abandon his official position and join the army, and started a different life situation.

Go all the way To the west, to the north, thousands of kilometers away, seems to be in the foreseeable future. Walking, the scenery in front of us slowly began to be broad and vigorous, with mountains and yellow sand everywhere. Further on, the temperature suddenly dropped. August in the Central Plains is the early autumn when melons and fruits are ripe, but it has already begun to snow here. The snow is getting heavier and heavier. What is it like? Cen Can's writing is amazing, just like his hometown's "blowing open the petals of ten thousand pear trees". His wonderful exaggeration and metaphor highlighted the harsh border environment. In the sparsely populated northwest border, only heavy snow, hard ice and armored armor can be seen everywhere; What fills my ears is the roar of the wind, the Ma Si and the whistle.

Du Fu said, "Cen Can brothers are very curious". The peculiar frontier scenery and the description of the war situation have become the poetic features that distinguish Cen Can from other poets. However, in essence, Cen Can is not the kind of writer who has a hobby of traveling. Traveling thousands of miles with Gao Xianzhi, Feng Changqing and other generals may be his helpless choice. The prominent family background and family expectations of three generations have planted so many deep expectations in this young man's heart that he can only enter the phase when he is a general. This trip may be a bet on his future. Doing something in the war zone is better than doing nothing in North Korea. In fact, Cen Can's outstanding literary talent was also affirmed by General Feng Changqing, and Cen Can wrote poems for him many times, reflecting their harmonious feelings. And the coach's preference, also prompted Cen Can more angry. Cen Can, who has a good attitude, consciously associates fame with poetry, and his works are naturally ambitious.

Shortly after the Anshi Rebellion, Cen Can returned to Beijing. The hard but happy life is over. After leaving the military camp, Cen Can unfortunately stepped into the bureaucratic system where villains were in power and intrigued. Gao Xianzhi and Feng Changqing, the generals he admired and followed, were killed because they failed to resist the rebels. These two generals fought countless battles in their lives. In the face of An Lushan's tiger-wolf division, he was told by the border guards that it was only because of his temporary defeat. During the war, the extremely confused Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty killed two generals with outstanding military achievements.

Bai Xuege, a masterpiece of frontier poems, was written in his second frontier stage. At this time, he was highly valued by Feng Changqing, the envoy of Anxi, and most of his frontier poems were written in this period. In this poem, with the poet's keen observation and romantic style, Cen Can depicts the magnificent scenery of the frontier fortress in the northwest of the motherland and the warm scene of envoys leaving Beijing in the frontier fortress barracks, showing the patriotic enthusiasm and sincere feelings of the poet and the border guards for their comrades.

Cen Can's works and poems are better than seven-character quatrains. His masterpiece is Song of Snow to Send Tian Shuji Wu Home, which has a cordial feeling for the frontier scenery, military life and cultural customs of ethnic minorities, so his frontier poems are particularly excellent. The style is similar to that of Gao Shi, and later generations often call it "Gao Cen".

Although he is good at seven-character poems, the famous "Spring Breeze at Night Blows Ten Thousand Pears" comes from Snow White, a poem in "Sending Tian Shuji Wu Home", which is a typical seven-character poem. However, this does not mean that Cen Can's other forms of poetry are low. Everyone has a poem he wrote, which he has never written. The meaning of this sentence is simple, but no one dares to imitate it.
