Annotations and appreciation of the original text and translation of Liu Kuang's Four Jues

Original text:

Four lines of Liu Zan

Modern: Mao Zedong

There is a thousand-year-old cloud in the sky. Liu Wei is in the middle of Tang Wei Jun.

Lonely in the rainbow and sorrowful in the cymbals, thousands of horses cry.

Translation:

There is a thousand-year-old cloud in the sky. Liu Wei is in the middle of Tang Wei Jun.

In the long history of China, there are many talented hermits. If you use a sage like Liu Kuang in the middle Tang Dynasty, it will not be passed down.

Lonely in the rainbow and sorrowful in the cymbals, thousands of horses cry.

Because he was helpless, he was always attacked and vilified. He dared to risk his life and attack eunuchs without fear, and became famous in one fell swoop.

Precautions:

In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Wei Jun had Finn.

There is a big cloud in the sky for thousands of years: the big cloud is Qingyun, which was called auspicious gas in ancient times, and sages are hidden under it. Liu Kuang: Zi went to China and was born in Changping, Youzhou (now Changping, Beijing). In the second year of the middle Tang Dynasty (828), he was virtuous and upright. Finally, because of the frame-up of eunuchs, he was demoted to Liuzhou to join the army and be the master, and died in a foreign country. When reading Liu Zhuan, an old Tang book, Mao Zedong appreciated Liu Sui's strategy and criticized it as "Qiqi".

Guhong City (shā) feathers wail loudly (dí), and horses neigh.

Lonely goose refers to Liu. Broken feather: this is a metaphor for depression and frustration. Also known as the arrow, it is a metaphor for the eunuch's slander and attack on Liu. Ten thousand horses together (yρn) call out: ten thousand horses together, also called (ten thousand horses together). Hey, idiot. It is said that when a horse shakes its mane and screams, all other horses are silent. Later used to describe a depressing situation. Let out a cry, which means that Liu risked his life to attack the eunuch boldly, and his name moved for a while.

Appreciate:

Liu Zan is a honest man, who dares to speak out, is honest and never follows the trend. He wrote a good article with many political opinions. In an imperial examination in the second year of Yamato in the middle Tang Dynasty (AD 828), Liu Sui wrote a straight book, denouncing eunuch autocracy and suggesting that the emperor punish eunuchs who interfered in state affairs. Although the examiner praised Liu Xu's talent, he was afraid to hire him because of the influence of eunuch group. So Liu Kun was a talented person all his life. The official position was only a card shark, and finally he was framed by eunuchs, relegated and died in a foreign land.

Mao Zedong praised Liu Xu's sharp and elegant writing when he read Liu Xuzhuan, a book of the New Tang Dynasty, and criticized it as "strange". Therefore, in this poem, Mao Zedong praised Liu Qi's fighting spirit of advocating justice and daring to challenge the dark forces, and criticized the dark rule of eunuch autocracy.

"A thousand years, a big cloud rises in the sky", the first sentence comes from the air, which is fun. Because you get up suddenly, you can also say "get up" As the old saying goes, "The cloud follows the dragon, and the wind follows the tiger." The key word of this sentence is "it's a big cloud", which is a bit like the meaning of "Yunfei winds up" in the first sentence of Liu Bang's Song of the Big Wind, which means to write about the unity of heaven and man. "Clouds fly and winds rise" is an induction of "Vega's hometown". "Thousands of clouds rise from the sky" is the induction of "a thousand horses sing together"-this poem echoes and is coherent from beginning to end. Reminiscent of April 1958, Mao Zedong wrote an article "Introducing a Cooperative" in Guangzhou, quoting a poem from Gong Zizhen's "Jihai Miscellaneous Work". The first two sentences of the poem are "Kyushu is angry according to the wind and thunder, and a thousand troops are sad." Then, the "Millennium Cloud" has another meaning, that is, there is a storm. There is a storm and anger, all because of one person!

"In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Wei Jun had Ada", and the second sentence is a continuation of the previous one. However, if we read these two sentences separately-"In the middle of the Tang Dynasty, there was Liu Sui in Wei Jun, and after a thousand years, a big cloud rose", wouldn't it be more convenient for cause and effect? If it goes well, it will go well, but it will go well and feel boring. In written language, it is the lack of artistic tension. It can be seen that inverted sentences in poetry are sometimes necessary.

One or two sentences in the whole poem are magnificent and forceful, praising that there are many "big men" like Liu Sui in the long history of China, and the heroic warrior image is tall and admirable.

The third sentence is a turn, "and I lament dysprosium." Liu Kuang's experience is a tragedy. According to Lu Xun's definition, tragedy is to destroy something of value for people to see. According to Notes of the Tang Dynasty, "Ada is a student of Yang Sifu. China officials are particularly jealous when the countermeasures are outspoken. Captain Chou Shiliang said to the heir,' Why did the Ministry of National Science make this wind (crazy) go wrong?' The son regained his fear and replied,' The son has recovered from the past and has contact with Liu Kun, but he still has no ears.' According to historical records, Liu Kui should be an outspoken and virtuous founder of scientific research. After the countermeasures were put forward, the three examiners lamented that Chao (wrong) and Dong (middle book) in the Han Dynasty were beyond measure. There were * * * 22 graduates that year. Because the eunuch was in power, the examiner was amazed, but he dared not admit Liu Wei. From these two things, we can imagine how afraid officials were of eunuchs at that time. It is not an exaggeration to describe the political situation at that time with "Wan Ma Benteng". In short, it is appropriate to describe Liu Geng's isolated and helpless situation with "loneliness" in his poems; It is very vivid to describe his ending with "failed feathers"; It is vivid to use cymbals to symbolize the cruelty of eunuchs persecuting Liu Chang.

"Wan Ma Benteng", the last sentence responded to the first sentence, is a combination. Tragic beauty can often be promoted to sublime beauty. Where is the sublime? In a word, it shows people's self-esteem consciousness-knowing what they can't do and doing it. I would rather die than surrender. This sentence expresses a similar spirit of struggle. The relationship between three or four sentences is still reversed. If, on the other hand, it is written as "a thousand troops scream, solitary red feathers mourn cymbals", regardless of the flatness of sound and rhyme, although it is sad, the tragic beauty disappears. Because the last sentence of the four poems is the focus of the poet. Only by emphasizing the "scream of ten thousand horses" ("scream" refers to Liu Xu risking his life to attack eunuchs) and highlighting people's fighting spirit can we show tragic beauty and sublime beauty. There is a great contrast between "one sound" and "ten thousand horses in unison" However, it is this contrast that highlights the value of that kind of "sound"-because it breaks the silence and calls for life. "Biography of Historical Records and Shang Jun" said that "Nuo Nuo with a thousand people is not as good as a scholar" (the appearance of outspoken arguments), which is the reason. Through the above analysis, we can see that this poem is full of tension in art, and the technique of reverse folding has played a great role.

There are three or four sentences in the whole poem describing the inevitable tragic fate of Liu Xu under the feudal rule, deeply sympathizing with Liu Xu and hating eunuchs, and expressing sincere admiration and appreciation for Liu Xu's courage to stand up and fight alone in the bleak situation of "ten thousand horses". "Wan Ma Qi Qi" borrows a famous sentence from Gong Zizhen, a poet in Qing Dynasty.
