This is a short self-driving ring road in western Sichuan which is closest to Chengdu, and it is also the best place for short-distance self-driving in three or four days. On the way out of Chengdu to the west, the windows in Du Fu's poems contain Xiling snow, and the snow-capped mountains in western Sichuan will emerge one after another. The scenic spots along the way are very dense, all of which are world-class scenery. The road conditions are not high for vehicles, so cars can pass smoothly. The only suggestion is to avoid small holidays, and popular routes are prone to traffic jams.
Chengdu set out to the west, passed Dujiangyan and headed for the mountains. Drive along National Highway 350, pass Yingxiu Town, and drive to the right in Gengda Town, and you can reach Wolong Giant Panda Base, which is very suitable for traveling with your baby. Then climb the pass of Balang Mountain at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, and stand at the pass, overlooking Siguniang Mountain and Xiling Snow Mountain.
Route analysis
After hovering down the mountain, you can rest in Siguniang Mountain Town in the valley. On the second day, you can visit Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area, continue through Xiaojin County, and reach Danba County at the intersection of National Highway 350 and National Highway 248, which can be used as the foothold for the next day. There are many ethnic villages around Danba County, such as Jiaju Tibetan Village, Danba Tibetan Village and Zhonglu Tibetan Village. Almost all are homestays with Tibetan watchtowers. Living in a homestay, you can see the Mordor Mountain in the distance.
On the third day, when I left Danba County, I entered the most densely populated section of the whole journey. I drove westward along National Highway 350, turned south in Bamei Town and got on National Highway 248. In just a few tens of kilometers, I passed Yala Snow Mountain, Moshi Park, Tagong Grassland and Tagong Temple. Almost all the scenic spots are beside the highway. You can stop and stand beside the Tagong Temple overlooking the Yala Snow Mountain behind you.
When the highway meets the national highway 3 18, we arrive in xinduqiao, a small town that is most suitable for autumn. After autumn, the surrounding vegetation will be stained with gold. Continue to turn around and drive eastward, cross the Zheduo Mountain and reach the passionate Kangding. On the observation deck along the way, you can overlook Gongga Snow Mountain. On the third night, you can rest in Kangding, start from Kangding, return to Chengdu after three or four hours in Luding and Ya 'an, and end the short-distance self-driving for three or four days.
