Villages near the water, battlements on the mountains, and wine flags fluttering in the wind everywhere. There are temples full of cigarettes, and pavilions stand in the misty rain.
Du Mu (A.D. 803-852), a Chinese character, is the grandson of Prime Minister Du You and the son of Du You. No, Fan Chuan, a layman, was an outstanding poet and essayist in the late Tang Dynasty, especially famous for his seven-character quatrains. Later generations called him "Xiao Du". Unlike Du Fu, he was also called "Du Xiaoli" with Li Shangyin. He was later called "Du Fanchuan" because he lived in South Fan Chuan Villa in Chang 'an in his later years.
