Chyi Chin's character story.

In front of the Changshou Building in Gong Yuan Garden in this city, the statue of Chyi Chin martyr has just been restored recently. On the front of the granite pedestal, the words "Chyi Chin Martyr, Pioneer of Wuxi Workers' Movement" inscribed by Chen Yun are engraved in gold letters. The standing statue is wearing a robe, holding a scroll, and its eyes are bright.

Chyi Chin, formerly known as Qin Xichang, was born in 1907 65438+ 10, and was born in Erxiatang, Wuxi. /kloc-After graduating from primary school at the age of 0/4, because his family was poor, his mother entrusted him to be sent to the Wheat Department of Mao Xin No.2 Flour Factory as an intern. If he keeps his position, he should become a "white-collar worker". But he personally experienced, heard and witnessed the cruel exploitation of workers by capitalists. After reading the Producers' Party Manifesto, he found the guiding light: "We young people should be revolutionary heroes and fight for the revolutionary cause to the end!" Therefore, he changed his name to Chyi Chin, indicating his determination to fight.

In the exhibition hall of Wuxi Museum, there is a complete portrait of Zhang Baocun Chyi Chin. Chyi Chin in the photo looks elegant, but the calligraphy on the edge of the photo is "a rebellious person, an ignorant person, a person who is determined to struggle under the bondage of ten thousand layers". This is exactly what Chyi Chin signed after he joined the Party in the winter of 1925.

1February, 926, Chyi Chin was appointed as the Party branch secretary of CITIC No.2 Flour Mill. In April, the capitalists in this factory forced the workers to work overtime continuously, and Shen Genquan, a worker in the mill workshop, suddenly fainted from overwork, and his body was caught by the machine and died on the spot. When the factory agent came to the workshop, he only asked if the machine was damaged and said nothing about the death of the workers. Shen's wife, with two children under the age of ten, arrived at the news, but was stopped outside the factory. Chyi Chin led the workers into the accounting office and demanded to pay funeral expenses and pensions. The struggle was won. Soon after, the factory first secretly established a trade union.

On March 1927 and 17, Chyi Chin led the workers' picket to destroy the railway, paralyzing the Shanghai-Nanjing line and strongly supporting the third armed uprising of Shanghai workers. On the night of March 20th, Chyi Chin and two other workers risked their lives to raise a bright red flag in the bell tower of the library to welcome the Northern Expeditionary Army to Wuxi.

Social assessment

At the beginning of 1988, the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government erected a tall bronze statue for him on the lawn in front of the Duoshou Building in the Central Park, a site of the Qin Revolution, according to the wishes of the people. Chyi Chin is far-sighted, standing on the land where he was born, raised and dedicated. Chen Yun wrote an inscription for the bronze statue: "Chyi Chin Martyr, Pioneer of Wuxi Workers' Movement"
