Gothic Architecture-Hongjialou Church

Hongjialou Catholic Church, also known as Honglou Church. Located in Hongjialou Road, Licheng District, Jinan City, separated from the old campus of Shandong University by a wall.

It is one of the famous scenic spots among Jinan network celebrities, and the whole journey is free without tickets.

Honglou Catholic Church is the largest Catholic Church in Jinan and the largest in North China, with a history of 120 years.

On May 25th, 2006, it was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Hongjialou church belongs to Gothic architecture.

Gothic architecture is a kind of architectural style, which prevailed in the peak and end of the Middle Ages. Mainly used in churches, popular in Europe at the peak and end of the Middle Ages.

It developed from Romanesque architecture and was inherited by Renaissance architecture. It originated in France in the12nd century and lasted until the16th century.
