How to make spring-themed bookmarks

How to make spring-themed bookmarks as follows:

Prepare the required materials:

White thick cardboard, watercolor paint (any paint will do, Here I use the Japanese Jixiang Yancai portable box), brush (any brand of watercolor pen and brush can be used, as long as I use a small size, I use Qiu Hongzhai brush), scissors, utility knife, colored ribbon (I I used the leftovers from when I embroidered ribbons and pillows, which is really a handy tool for thrifty housekeeping) and a pen-washing cup (any cup).

Step one: cut the bookmark. Use scissors to cut the white cardboard into long strips. Pay attention to the width and don't cut it too wide or too narrow. Tips: You can cut a small arc into the four corners of the long strip, so that it looks soft and round, rather than boxy and stiff. In the picture above, the two on the left have no arcs cut, and the two on the right have arcs cut. Is the effect very intuitive?

The second step: spread water and preliminary dyeing. (By the way, I forgot to mention, this bookmark doesn’t even require a pencil sketch. You only need to lightly outline the approximate location of the flowers and trees, and then directly apply the brush. Isn’t it very simple and convenient?!) Soak the brush in water, and gently Apply to the surface of the bookmark. While the white paper is still wet, use a brush to apply rouge red dots to create the rudiments of flowers and trees.

Step 3: Continue blending. Through different strokes of dotting, pressing and smearing with a brush (yes, you are so willful, you can paint however you want!) to express the different branches of the flower tree. Pay attention to mixing the paint with water to distinguish the shades of colors.

Step 4: Continue to blend to create the effect of flowers and trees being dyed. Patiently use the brush to continue deepening the picture layer by layer. If you feel that the color is too light, you can use a darker red to cover it. Pay attention to painting the dense layers of flowers and trees, and the different layers before and after, to create the effect of dyeing the forest.

Step 5: Draw the trunk and branches. Use dark ocher to draw the trunk and branches of the flowering tree. Note that some branches are covered by the flowers and cannot be drawn.

Step 6: stamp. Congratulations on reaching this point, the watercolor part of "Flower Tree" is basically completed! Stamp the lower right corner of the bookmark with a small seal engraved with your name, and a feeling of satisfaction will arise spontaneously!

Tips①: Since the bookmark is small and delicate, do not use a seal that is too large, as this will affect the beauty of the overall layout. My seal is 1cm x 1cm. I bought it online and it is the right size. Tips②: Let’s talk about the overall layout of drawing bookmarks at this point. When you get a blank bookmark, how should you compose it?

The most important thing is to know how to leave blank space. Don't smear the entire bookmark, be sure to leave a spare part. At the very least, you have to leave room for your signature and seal, usually at one of the top, bottom, left, and right corners of the bookmark.

In addition, the priority of the picture must be highlighted. You can't draw here and there with a hammer and a stick, otherwise the picture will look messy and disorganized. If the focus of the picture is on the upper left part, then the lower right part should be less ink or simply left blank, as is the case with this "Flower Tree". If there are two bouquets of flowers in the picture, then one bouquet must be highlighted and the other bouquet takes second place. This will give the picture a sense of hierarchy.

Step 7: Tie a ribbon on the bookmark. Use a utility knife to carve a small slit on the upper end of the bookmark (be gentle so as not to damage the bookmark), thread the ribbon through it, and tie a knot.
