Marshal Zhu De is both civil and military, and "a military commander will wield his power, while a Confucian will have a high wind". His early poems left a deep impression on people. In 19 16, he served as the brigade commander of Guo Jing in Yunnan and was ordered to be stationed in Luzhou, Sichuan. During his five years in Lu, he organized a poetry club with local literati, which often sang together, but it has been little known. During the period of 1978, the staff of Luzhou Library found 18 poems written by Zhu De during his stay in Shandong and published them in People's Literature. Now the eighteen early poems of Marshal Zhu De are slightly annotated as follows for readers.
