There is a story in Buddhism: the Buddha asked a man under the bodhi tree: "As a mortal, you have gained wealth and power, as well as a good wife and mother and lovely children." What are you worried about? " The mortal replied to the Buddha, "I just have so many things that I don't know how to choose the most important thing to cherish."
The Buddha told him a story: One day, the Buddha wanted to save a tourist who was dying of thirst, so he gave him a lake, but in the end, the man died of thirst without drinking a drop of water. When the man came to see the Buddha, the Buddha asked him why. The man told the Buddha that there was too much water in the lake, so his stomach couldn't drink that much water. Since he can't drink it all at once, he might as well not drink it at all.
After telling this story, the Buddha told that person that there are too many things you want in the world, but you can't get everything you want. Don't be greedy, cherish the present. Weak water is 3 thousand, and it is also a good choice to take a ladle of water.
This is the origin of the sentence "3 thousand weak water is only one scoop" In Buddhism, it is to warn people not to be insatiable and grasp the present. If they are too greedy, they may get nothing. Three thousand is three thousand worlds, which is a summary of all things in the world in Buddhism.
This sentence is also explained in Confucianism. Yan Hui, a disciple of Confucius, lives in a shabby house and eats humble food, but he can live in poverty and stick to his original heart. Confucius praised him as "virtuous! Also came back. A spoonful of food, a spoonful of drink, in a dirty alley. If people can't bear it, they will be worried. If they return, they will not change their fun. " Therefore, in Confucianism, "one scoop of drink" means to boast that a gentleman is poor and happy.
Later quoted this sentence to describe feelings. Everyone is used to using "weak water 3 thousand, only one scoop of water" to describe loyalty and singleness to love.
