1. The Seven Poems of Suffering:
Suffering is endless,
If there is no suffering, suffering is endless.
When all the hardships are over, the sweetness will come.
Only then will we realize that hardship is merit.
Explanation: The seven sufferings of life are birth, old age, illness, death, resentment, separation from love, and failure to seek.
Sheng: In fact, it is not my own suffering, but my mother’s suffering. But at this time, my mother is happy, so she doesn’t feel the suffering. Perhaps, the suffering here means that people are destined to suffer at birth, which is the beginning of suffering. Old: The laws of nature are irresistible. Illnesses: Minor ailments, minor pains, and even many terminal illnesses are inevitable for people. Maybe this is God's way of testing and training people. Death: To be honest, we young people still don’t feel the threat of death, although misfortunes will come and visit young people. The most fearful of death is the elderly. It is indeed painful to think that they will disappear from this beautiful world. But, corresponding to the birth above, this is also the end of suffering, a liberation. Resentment: Is it talking about resentment and hatred toward certain people in life? That's the only way to understand it. To be honest, saying "I love you" to someone may make them consider your sincerity. However, if you say "I hate you" to a person, no one will doubt the truth of this sentence! Parting: It is indeed a hardship in life. I still remember the graduation scene more than nine months ago. The building was empty, everyone went their separate ways, and we could only forget each other in the world. Unable to ask for: I think of a saying: If people's desires are not satisfied, they will be miserable, and if they are satisfied, they will be bored. Therefore, people are struggling in pain and boredom. Therefore, Buddhism advises people to have fewer desires to avoid hopeless pain.
"Suffering is endless" means that our suffering (the seven sufferings in the sutra) is not transferred by human will. We must work hard to face these sufferings, "If there is no suffering, there is no end." It’s about if we don’t suffer now, we will only have a lifetime of hard work to face our miserable life in the future (young people don’t work hard, old people will be sad). "After all the hardships, you will realize that hardships are merits." It means that when we achieve success, we realize that our previous struggles are the basis for our success today. It's so sweet when I think about it.
