On March 27th, 2007, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), the chairman of the organization, David? Dr Jones initiated the "First World Social Work Day" and held a celebration with the International Union of Schools of Social Work. The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) has decided to choose one day as "World Social Work Day" every spring from 2007. The 2008 World Social Work Day was held on April 15 with the overall theme of "Changing the World".
World Social Work Day-Festival Significance
The International Union of Social Workers and the International Union of Social Work Schools advocate social workers all over the world to carry out various meaningful activities to commemorate the Second World Social Work Day, and strive to solve problems for the disadvantaged groups in the community and contribute love, knowledge and skills to those in need.
