1. In the evening, the jackdaws are sad. The willow pond is fresh green but gentle. ——Xin Qiji's "Partridge Sky·The Jackdaws Are Sad in the Evening".
Vernacular meaning: Jackdaws return to their nests at sunset, a sad scene. Only the tender green shoots of the willow trees in the pond showed a gentle scene.
2. The strings of the golden river are opened in the middle of autumn, and the clouds fly away in mourning. ——Du Mu's "Morning Goose".
Vernacular meaning: In August, the Uighur soldiers on the border drew their bows and shot arrows, causing the geese to fly away and scream.
3. The past and present are like dreams, never dreamed, but there are old joys and new resentments. ——Su Shi's "Yong Yu Le·Pengcheng Overnight at Yanzi Tower".
Vernacular meaning: Everything in ancient and modern times is in vain. How many people can still wake up from their dreams? Some are just old love and new grudges that are difficult to deal with.
4. Egrets fly in front of Xisai Mountain, and mandarin fish are fat in peach blossoms and flowing water. ——Zhang Zhihe, "Yu Gezi: Egrets Flying in Front of Xisai Mountain".
Vernacular meaning: Egrets are flying freely in front of Xisai Mountain, peach blossoms are in full bloom on the river bank, and plump mandarin fish are swimming happily in the river.

Vernacular meaning: In the dead of night, dark clouds cover the moon, wild geese fly in the sky, and Shanyu's army wants to sneak away under the cover of night.

Vernacular meaning: The cicadas are noisy, the forest becomes increasingly quiet, and the birdsong makes the mountains feel deeper and deeper.

Vernacular meaning: The whining Hu Yan flew through the sky every night, and the Hu soldiers were moved by the scene and burst into tears.
