Meng Haoran's life, from early middle age to old age, has four different stages.
As a teenager, he yearned for seclusion and nature. From night to Lumen Mountain, he writes about his own leisure, just like others. Later, he wrote, "Soon, the dim moonlight penetrated the misty trees, and before I knew it, I came to an ancient seclusion." This sentence also confirms his mentality and choice at the moment. Bladder is a person who retired from his early years. Meng Haoran wrote about him because he himself yearned for a life like Panggu's, where seclusion was integrated with nature, and he enjoyed himself, was carefree, relaxed and yearned for a life. Including Zhang Wu in Autumn Mountain. In this poem, he finally wrote, "I wish you would pick me up and bring a basket of wine, * * * Drunk Double Ninth Festival", which also expressed his carefree mood and yearning for seclusion.
But at the age of 40, it became an important turning point in Meng Haoran's life. Meng Haoran suddenly became an official at the age of 40 and wanted to be an official when he arrived in Beijing. Why? There are actually two reasons, but the focus of these three reasons is Confucian culture. The reason for 1 is not so important, but one of the reasons is that Meng Haoran has no money at this time, and he is in a period of poverty at this time. The third reason is that in Confucian culture, it is written that the 40-year-old ignorant is fearless, which means that if a person has not done anything at the age of 40, he will never do anything in his life, so this person is not enough to make everyone afraid. The second reason is also because of the influence of Confucian culture. Confucius once said: "It is shameful to make the country rich and expensive. The country has a way, and it is extremely vicious and shameful. " This means that if the country is ruled by a bad king, but if he is prosperous, it is a shame. However, if the country is governed by a wise monarch, under such circumstances, if he is still poor and has done nothing, it is also a shame. During Meng Haoran's period, Wu Zetian ruled the country before the age of 40. Perhaps in Meng Haoran's view, Wu Zetian, the queen, did not sit properly and ascended the throne in accordance with Confucian etiquette, so she did not go to be an official. However, after Tang Xuanzong succeeded to the throne, Tang Xuanzong governed the country in an appropriate way, which was in line with Confucian etiquette. At this time, it would be a pity if Meng Haoran still refused to be an official and continued to be poor and cheap here. Therefore, because of the influence of Confucian culture, Meng Haoran chose his official career and became an official.
However, the third stage of his life soon began. The stage was opened because he failed in the exam. He is famous in his hometown, so there are many heavyweights in the capital. When they heard that Meng Haoran was going to be an official, they were welcomed by the poet Li Bai and wrote a poem "Master, I sincerely salute you, and your reputation has risen to the sky". Meng Haoran confidently went to Beijing to take the exam, thinking that he would be a big official. As a result, he failed to pass the exam several times. In the Tang Dynasty, the imperial examination system was the only way for a person to be an official, and Meng Haoran's failure in the list meant that he might not be an official. Later, as the travelling expenses brought by Meng Haoran were all used up, Meng Haoran had to return to China, but did he really want to return to China at this time?
Actually, it is not. In Meng Haoran's "Nanyang Snow Blocking", "Go home at ten o'clock with shame, and go home with Pei." It can be seen that he has been looking at the direction of his capital. He wants to look back at the capital, but he doesn't want to go home, so he just turns around. At that time, so many people thought that he could be admitted to a big official, but as a result, he failed the list, and he was not afraid at the age of 40. This is his shame. He still has his own political ambitions and ideals. He also wants to realize his political ideals and take his own road. Therefore, although the name of this poem is Nanyang Snow Resistance, Meng Haoran was full of thoughts at this time, and finally chose to continue to seek official positions and strive to realize his ideals.
Later, Meng Haoran was at a friend's house, and Tang Xuanzong just came to visit, which was the opportunity for Meng Haoran to be a big official. He may be promoted by Tang Xuanzong himself. This is Meng Haoran's own reputation, and naturally Tang Xuanzong knows it, so Tang Xuanzong asked Meng Haoran to write a poem, which is a good opportunity for Meng Haoran to display his talents. However, the poems written by Meng Haoran are not satisfactory, and Meng Haoran knows it himself. Meng Haoran is famous at this time, and Meng Haoran is certainly not incompetent, which leads to the irony of the word "democracy" here. And ... Meng Haoran enjoyed all the recent experiences and sufferings in his life and wrote them in this poem. He is complaining about Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. In this poem, he wrote down all his poverty, old age and setbacks. Tang Xuanzong was also a wise man. He naturally understood Meng Haoran's poems and said to Meng Haoran, "Qing doesn't want to be an official. Why don't I abandon Qing?" These two sentences, that is, this sentence, almost cut off Meng Haoran's official career, and all the possibilities of Meng Haoran's accession to the WTO disappeared. At this time, he can only choose to retire.
At this time, the fourth stage of Meng Haoran's life began. Meng Haoran failed to realize his political ambition. He went into seclusion, which seems to be his first seclusion. In fact, he can't feel at ease as before, but at the same time, the climax of Meng Haoran's poetry began. Meng Haoran overlooked Dongting Lake, giving Prime Minister Zhang not only inaction, but also humiliation. This poem also writes a style in which landscape and emotion are integrated. In this way, the poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty began the poetic style of * * * emotion. In the early Cold River, Meng Haoran wrote the sadness of failure in this poem, "Where is the ferry? Can someone tell me? " And his confusion at the moment. He can't really live in seclusion, but he can't get an official either. He has been entangled in between the two, unable to find the way forward and the way to realize his political ideal. In his later poems, although he reached the peak of poetry, he revealed in his poems the passage of time between people and things and the sadness that he could only be frustrated, just like a philosopher climbing a sword mountain, "while secular things take turns, ancient and modern, back and forth." He felt the passage of time, but he could only look at it, but he could do nothing. He could only cry in front of the inscription under the Yanggong mansion. Meng Haoran and he are both here, but he did do something, but Meng Haoran was depressed and did nothing but fail and be sad.
Therefore, Meng Haoran's life seems to be the climax of poetry, but at the same time, he also has ups and downs and sad emotions full of entanglement and poetry, and all his emotions are presented in his poems.
