"Bananas don't show lilac festival, and the spring breeze in the same direction is different." This is the first of the seven-character quatrains written by Li Shangyin, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This poem is about the heroine's boredom at dusk. Seeing the scenery overlooking the courtyard downstairs increased her sadness.
This poem, in a woman's tone, describes her sadness that she can't meet her lover. The time written in the poem is spring dusk. The poet expresses her inner feelings from the scenes of the moon, plantains and lilacs seen by the protagonist in the poem by means of scene expression.
Extended data:
"Two Poems as a Gift" refers to a poem written by a person as a gift. It is also possible that the poet deliberately named it this way, but there is no real substitute, because such poems mostly write about acacia. Neither of these two poems has a date, and the specific creation date is unknown.
Li Shangyin, whose name is Yishan, was born in Yuxi. A native of Hanoi, Huaizhou (now Qinyang, Henan). His poems about history are full of satire on current politics, and untitled poems are very famous. He is good at discipline, rich in literary talent, rigorous in conception, graceful in emotion and unique in style. But there are too many useful classics and their meanings are obscure. They are called "arts and sciences" with Wen and "Little Du Li" with Du Mu. There are poems by Li Yishan.
