In geography textbooks, we often see this sentence: With a large population, the land is vast and rich in resources.
It seems that no matter where you go, there are dense crowds and a commercialized scenery.
However, deep in the Greater Khingan Mountains in northern my country, there is such a dazzling pearl with beautiful scenery, as beautiful as a fairy tale, so quietly hidden in the mountains, this is Aershan.
The word "Alshan" originally originated from Sanskrit, and was later introduced into Mongolian through Buddhism. It is currently a word in Mongolian, meaning "hot holy water". Aershan City is located in the northwest of Xing'an League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, across the southwest foothills of the Greater Khingan Mountains. It is one of the cities with the highest latitude in China. In addition, it also has many of the best in China and even the world:
★ The county-level city with the smallest population in China;
★ The city with the highest per capita forest coverage in the country;
★ The city with the highest negative oxygen ion content in the urban air in China;
★ The only city that integrates volcanoes, glaciers, grasslands, hot springs, forests, adventures, and cultural monuments City;
Although it is nominally a county-level city, the town of Aershan, which has only three main roads from north to south, is not even half the size of the neighboring town of Irshi, and you can walk around it in half a day. Because of these characteristics, Aershan is also known as "China's largest village".
Here, you don’t need to worry about the noise from the crowd, you just need to immerse yourself in the beauty of the blue sky and white clouds.

As one of the cities with the smallest population in China, Aershan City has a permanent population of only 4,000-5,000 people. Although the population is sparse, it is the political center of the Xing’an League Forest District. , economic and cultural center. Therefore, although the area is small, it is not less lively and prosperous.
At the same time, there is also the most beautiful railway station in China - Aershan Railway Station. It is a Japanese-style building with an Oriental style, built of bricks, granite, and reinforced concrete, and is full of a strong historical atmosphere.
The Aershan Railway Station was built in 1937. It is a two-story building with low eaves and a pointed roof. The outer wall of the first floor is surrounded by random stone walls made of granite, and the roof is covered with ocher cement.
It was a building when the Kwantung Army was stationed. Today, the entire train station is well preserved and still in use. It is a key cultural relic of Inner Mongolia and the terminus of the Bai (Baicheng) Aershan (Aershan) Line. There is a Japanese-style health care building with stone and wood structure near the station.
Aershan Station is located in Aershan City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is under the jurisdiction of Baicheng Railway Station of Shenyang Railway Bureau. It is currently a fourth-class station. In order to carefully construct a border scenic station, the station was based on the existing station building, removing modern elements, and restoring the wooden fence exit, long wooden seats in the waiting room, etc. The station has also become a new local tourist attraction.

The Aershan area was once an active stage for nomadic peoples such as Donghu, Xianbei, Khitan, Mongolia, and Manchu. Later, they all disappeared one after another in the long river of history. Located in the "Khitan Cave" in Bailang Town, Aershan City, Khitan, Mongolian, Chinese characters and other writings were found on the cliff inside the cave. Experts speculate that they are suspected to be ink scripts from the Liao Dynasty.
In 2014, an ancient rock painting relic was discovered on the east side of the Rose Peak Scenic Area, which is suspected to be a cultural heritage left by the ancestors of the Late Paleolithic Age.
Since ancient times, Aershan has been a battleground for military strategists.
There are many offensives built in the Aershan region during the Japanese-Puppet period, all of which were built by the Japanese Empire to control the connection point between Northeast Asia and Eurasia.
The Nanxing'an Tunnel is 3218.5 meters long and is the longest railway tunnel in Inner Mongolia. The Japanese invaders built it from March 1934 to January 1935 in order to plunder the timber in the Aershan forest area and expand their power. It is still the only way for trains to enter Aershan.
In June 1939, after the Nanxing'an Tunnel was completed, the Japanese army built a fortress at each of the east and west exits to protect the tunnel. The fortress has a construction area of ??more than 600 square meters, with one underground floor and three above ground floors. It contains a power generation room, ammunition depot, dormitory, bathroom, warehouse, bathhouse, etc.
There are more than 100 shooting holes on all sides of the fortress. Bunkers are built at the tunnel exit and beside the road. Firepower is cross-disposed on the mountain and down the mountain, forming a complete protection system.
Today, these places have become patriotic education bases to warn future generations not to forget history.

If you want to say the most attractive place in Aershan, it is definitely the magnificent natural scenery.
Aershan National Forest Park, located at the southwest foot of the Daxingan Mountains in Inner Mongolia, is a good place to appreciate the scenery of the North.
There are clear lakes, gurgling streams, dense virgin forests, and canyons lined with strange rocks.
Santan Gorge is located in the upper reaches of the Halaha River 78 kilometers northeast of Aershan City. It consists of three deep pools: Yingsongtan, Yingbitan and Longfengtan.
Or the flow speed is turbulent, and the water rolls up the bead curtain, like strips of white gauze.
Or the water is gentle, flowing over the rocks, and swaying to pieces of broken jade.
Dujuan Lake. Many people will always remember its intoxicating deep blue color at the first sight of Dujuan Lake.
When we turn our eyes back to the shore, we will see herds of cattle and sheep, and the ground is golden, which makes people sigh: What a beautiful grassland scenery.
On both sides of the lake, there are lush forests, with cattle and sheep disappearing and appearing in the forest. If you are there, you will forget all your worries and devote yourself to this beautiful pastoral time.
Chaiheyuan Grand Canyon is located in the virgin forest 20 kilometers southeast of Xing'an Forest Farm. It is W-shaped from south to north and is 11 kilometers long. It is a place with strange and beautiful scenery.
Since the main body of the Grand Canyon is a volcanic lava fault zone, it is dotted with strange rocks and waterfalls, and there are many wonders.
Tuofengling Tianchi. Some people say that Aershan is beautiful everywhere, but the most fascinating thing is Tuofengling Tianchi. It is like the eye of Aershan, quietly gazing at the surrounding beautiful scenery.
There is always an indescribable yearning and nostalgia here. Some people love its summer, with its quiet woods and green water, just like a piece of beautiful jade set between heaven and earth.
The Aershan Ice-Free River is a section of the Halaha River. It is named because this section of the river does not freeze even in severe winters.
Here, even if it is extremely cold and the dripping water turns into ice, the river here is still steaming and gurgling, which makes all visitors applaud and marvel.
Not only that, the water and grass in the river are green, but the rime on the bank is crystal clear. The contrast between the two adds a mysterious atmosphere to the place.
It turns out that there is a lot of geothermal resources under the water here, so every winter, even if it is surrounded by ice and snow, the river here will still show a steaming landscape.
So, if you come to Aershan in winter, you might as well come here to have a look.
Find some free time, escape from the noisy crowd, and go to Aershan.
