Tea Cave is a border town in western Hunan, which spans three provinces with one foot, and is at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou and Chongqing provinces. Because of its dangerous geographical location, it is a battleground for military strategists in history. In 2008, Chadong Town was renamed as "Border Town", but the name of Chadong is still in use today, and many people also call it Chadong.
In Border Town, Mr. Shen described the tea cave like this: a small stream flows down the river, around the mountain, and flows into the tea cave river for about three miles. If people walk through the stream and climb the hill, it takes only one mile to reach the border town of Tea Cave. The stream is like a bow, and the mountain road is like a bowstring. There is a slight difference between distance and distance. This stream is about 20 feet wide, and the riverbed is made of big stones. The quiet river, even if it is bottomless, is still clear and transparent, and the fish in the middle reaches of the river can be counted.
That river is a famous water in history ... there are many mountains on both sides of the river, and there are many fine bamboos in the mountains that can make paper. They are dark green all year round and stand out ... yellow walls and black tiles are always so appropriate and extremely harmonious with the surrounding environment, which makes people feel very happy. A traveler who is slightly interested in poetry and painting won't be bored after spending 30 days in this river.
Mr. Shen Congwen left his hometown a long time ago, and only when he returned home did he discover the beauty of the border towns (Hong 'an and Tea Cave). The unique beauty of Tea Cave and Hong 'an lies in the quiet town, leisurely villagers, patchwork stone roads and ups and downs of diaojiao building.
