What is the poem of spear and shield?

Chu people have a shield on a spear, which is praised as: "The solid things of my shield can't be trapped." They also praised their spears as: "All the good things of my spear can't be trapped." Or: "What about the spear of a child and the shield of a child?" A man can respond.

The idiom "contradiction" means stabbing his shield with his own spear. Metaphor is that one's words and deeds contradict each other.

spear: spear, an ancient weapon used for attack; Shields: Shields, ancient defensive weapons.

This story comes from Han Feizi Nan Yi: A man in the State of Chu sells both shields and spears in the market. In order to attract customers and make his goods sell as soon as possible, he exaggerates and exaggerates loudly.

First of all, he raised the shield in his hand and boasted to passers-by: "Ladies and gentlemen, please look at this shield in my hand. It's a good shield forged from good materials at one time. It's so strong that you can't pierce it with any sharp spear!" The words made people gather around and watch carefully.

Then, the Chu man picked up the spear leaning against the wall, boasting even more brazenly: "Heroes, please look at this spear in my hand again. It is a good spear that has been hammered, and its point is particularly sharp. No matter how strong your shield is, it will be pierced by my spear!" Once this big talk was exported, everyone who listened was dumbfounded.

After a while, I saw a man standing out from the crowd, pointing to the Chu man and asking, "You just said that your shield is so strong that no spear can pierce it; And your spear is so sharp that no shield can resist it. Then ask: what will happen if I poke your shield with your spear? " Hearing this, the Chu people were speechless, so they blushed, quickly packed up his spear and shield, and fled the market despondently.

Now, you can't justify yourself by using this word. For example, "What you just said is inconsistent, and others don't know how to understand it."
