Guo Xiaochuan (1919-1976) has served as deputy secretary of the Party Committee, secretary of the Secretariat and secretary-general of the Chinese Writers Association since 1954. Political lyric poetry is his best writing style. Since 196s, he has also written many narrative poems, such as Ode to Snow, Deep Valley, Severe Love, One and Eight, which is an important achievement of 17 years' narrative poems.
