Deyang’s stone carving art wall is so famous. I still remember that I came here more than ten years ago, but as time goes by, there are not many memories left. What’s more, Deyang’s urban architecture has also undergone tremendous changes. After 4 pm on May 18, as soon as I arrived in Deyang, I hurried to the stone carving art wall on Taishan North Road. Sure enough, a lot has changed here. The large-leaf banyan and yellow oak trees in the park are quite lush, with tangled branches, like giant umbrellas, completely covering the road. There are acres of grassland, green grass, green and fresh. The air is warm and moist, and you can smell the fragrance of leaves. There are not many tourists, the environment is clean, no noise, no noise, just like a pure land in the busy city.
There are many introductions to Deyang Stone Carving Art Wall. It is located on the west side of Jinghu Lake, next to the main road of Taishan North Road, with a total length of more than 1,000 meters and a height of 7 meters. It consists of the Cow Gate, Song of Life, Art Gallery, Light of Wisdom, Soul of China, Twelve Zodiac Pillars and other landscapes. However, for me, who doesn’t know much about the art of stone carving, facing so many giant stone carvings, it feels a bit like grandma entering the Grand View Garden, and I can’t quite figure out how to do it. I just think it's so good, the carving is so exquisite. As for what they represent, where is the song of life, where is the light of wisdom, where is the soul of China, etc., I don’t quite understand. Of course, some are still understandable, such as the Zodiac Stone Pillar, the Panlong Stone Pillar, etc.
After watching it for a while, I gave up searching for the root cause and turned to taking pictures. Only then did I realize that it is not easy to put these exquisite stone carvings into a camera. They are too big! If you want to shoot them separately, it seems difficult to separate them as a whole. Also, the dense trees seriously hinder the view and framing. I have no choice but to make do with some photos, so as to show off these exquisite stone carving arts.
After seeing the Stone Carving Park, what moved me most was the origin of the Stone Carving Park. According to reports, in 1986, when the leaders of Deyang City Government were expanding Sichuan-Shaanxi Road, in order to reduce the demolition of houses, they decided to adopt the plan of filling in the river dam and building a fortress ridge, thus forming an 8-meter-high stone wall. Obviously, the leaders of Deyang City had the foresight to decide on the birth of the stone carving art wall. The reason why I was moved was because the country was still very poor at that time and there was basically no money left to engage in these cultural and artistic things. At that time, people's concepts were very backward, and there was a risk of criticism when building such an art wall. However, the leaders of Deyang City did so, leaving this cultural and artistic treasure for Deyang. Coincidentally, in the 1980s, the leaders of Shuangliu dug out lakes and built mountains, and built Tanghu Park in the center of Shuangliu City, which has become the green lung of today's beautiful Shuangliu city. I admire their foresight and courage.
On the other hand, today, some local officials are so happy with their achievements that they spend people's hard-earned money to build large buildings and political achievement projects. They are flashy and flashy, and even build today and demolish them tomorrow, which is really disgusting
