1998 was my first year of teaching in Sima primary school after graduation, when I was also teaching in the fourth grade. At that time, the school organized and participated in an essay-writing activity for Xiaobaihua. Xu Dandan's composition "Kneeling Lamp" was published in a new issue of Xiaobaihua magazine because of its novel selection of materials. It is precisely because of this stage built by Xiaobaihua that I know that children in rural areas can also turn their works into type.
This year, the second volume of the fourth grade textbook compiled by the Ministry of Education has arranged "comprehensive learning activities"-knocking on the door of poetry. The purpose is to let children know, learn, accumulate and imitate modern poetry. Telling the truth, this part of the content in the textbook was basically not used as a test center in the previous exam. Therefore, according to the principle of "what to teach and what to test", teachers will not make great efforts in this respect. Perhaps influenced by my love of poetry since I was a child, from the beginning, I made a semester plan for "poetry" (learning to understand, accumulating excerpts, running handwritten newspapers, poetry reading and poetry creation). Poetry creation is the ultimate goal, and it is also a learning task throughout the semester. Children write casually according to their interests and feelings. I am only responsible for collecting, praising and encouraging ... I didn't expect a semester, full of harvest and constant surprises!
Fortunately, due to the recommendation of my colleague Song Jie, Hua Xiaobai magazine published a special issue of poetry for the children in our class!
"Unintentionally inserted willows into the shade" witnessed the growth of my teaching for more than 20 years. It also reminds me of that sentence again-"Let education be more persistent and less utilitarian".
