This is the difference between the two roads. The Qinghai-Tibet line is built on a relatively flat plateau, and the Sichuan-Tibet line extends in the Hengduan mountain area, sometimes bumpy and sometimes deep.
In fact, there are many differences between the two roads. Their characteristics are constantly revealed in the comparison. I even think that only through comparison can these two roads show their own characteristics and aesthetic feeling. I've gone both ways. It is through comparison that I have a comprehensive understanding of these two roads. Otherwise, my understanding is neither accurate nor deep. Just like knowing a person through a friend, knowing the Qinghai-Tibet line can lead you through the Sichuan-Tibet line. If you want to understand the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and appreciate its beauty, you have to go both ways. You either enter from the Qinghai-Tibet line and leave from the Sichuan-Tibet line, or enter from the Sichuan-Tibet line and leave from the Qinghai-Tibet line. These two lines are very harmonious, just like a perfect couple, forming a perfect combination to show you the charm of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the most unique region in the world.
What I want to say here is a contradiction: the exciting Sichuan-Tibet line is beautiful, but its connotation is slightly inferior to that of the Qinghai-Tibet line; Although the plain landform changes of the Qinghai-Tibet line are not as dazzling as those of the Sichuan-Tibet line, the natural stories it tells are deeper and richer than those of the Sichuan-Tibet line. It can even be said that in terms of understanding the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, people who have walked through the Sichuan-Tibet line cannot say that they have walked through the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Only those who have crossed the Qinghai-Tibet line are qualified to say that I have been to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the roof of the world. Why do you say that? Because the Sichuan-Tibet line is on the edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, it can't be regarded as seeing the whole picture of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, but the Qinghai-Tibet line passes through the core of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the characteristics of the "roof of the world" are displayed on the Qinghai-Tibet line.
Not only that, although the Qinghai-Tibet line has not experienced as many mountains and valleys as the Sichuan-Tibet line, the vast natural areas it crosses are richer than the Sichuan-Tibet line, and there are essential differences between these large natural areas. The Sichuan-Tibet line also crosses many different areas, but the differences between these areas are low-level. For example, the Qinghai-Tibet Line spans three basic areas in China: the eastern monsoon region, the arid northwest region and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. In a sense, taking a trip to the Qinghai-Tibet line is equivalent to traveling all over China; However, the Sichuan-Tibet line only passes through humid and semi-humid areas, so it is impossible to know what is going on in the arid northwest of China and the real Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Therefore, it can be said that the Qinghai-Tibet Line has a great generalization of China's natural environment, which seems to be a category in philosophy, while the Sichuan-Tibet Line is just a concept.
