Tagore When Day Is Done (when time has passed)
When time has passed
If the day is done,
if Time has passed,
If birds sing no more.
Birds no longer sing,
If the wind has fiagged tired,
The wind is tired of blowing,
Then draw the veil of darkness thick upon me,
Then draw the veil of darkness thick upon me,
Even as thou hast wrapt the earth with The coverlet of sleep and tenderly closed ,
The petals of the drooping lotus at dusk.
And gently closed the petals of the water lily.
From the traverer,
Whose sack of provisions is empty before the voyage is ended,
The clothes are torn and stained, and the man is exhausted.
Whose garment is torn and dust-laden ,
You dispel the shame and embarrassment of travelers,
Whose strength is exhausted, remove shame and poverty ,< /p>
And renew his life like a flower under the night of your mercy,
And renew his life like a flower under
The cover of thy kindly night.
Wake up under the cover of your kindly night.
