He is the kind of constantly chauffeured from Baoyu. He was a master of poetry when he was young, but the old "no self" was so distinctive that we ignored his overall poetic achievements. A title of "Shi Fo" can describe the characteristics of his later poems, but it is not enough to describe his life.
Wang Wei's landscape poetry is an authentic school of landscape poetry, which inherits Xie Lingyun from the same background and has a romantic literary style.
Meng Haoran is a big landlord, and he is still white until he is old. He loves his country life. We can read that kind of heartfelt love and affection from his works. The works in the field are particularly real and simple because they are closer to our own lives.
However, his thought is not as high as Tao Yuanming's, so he is only the representative of pastoral poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, relying entirely on his own poetic talents and real life, which is completely different from Wang Wei's life experience and poetic style, and cannot be compared.
Therefore, Wang Wei is the leader of landscape poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and Meng Haoran is the leader of landscape pastoral poetry.
Later scholars combined these two schools into one and formed "pastoral poetry". In fact, their literary concepts and rhetorical devices are different.
