"You Are April in the World" is a modern poem written in 1934 by Lin Huiyin, a poet during the Republic of China. This poem first writes the image of "April", using the seasonal characteristics of April such as the light spring breeze, bright spring scenery, and changeable spring colors; the second to fourth stanzas use the various characteristics of April respectively. Different images are used to describe various scenes in life; in the end, the poet expresses his feelings directly, summarizing that "you" means "love", "warmth" and "hope". The whole poem uses many images as metaphors to write delicate and soft emotions, showing the beauty of lightness and elegance. At the same time, its content and form are perfectly combined. The sense of music and painting in the Chinese poetry tradition and the rhythm of classical British Shang Lai poetry. Pursuing the perfect combination, it is a piece of nature that can be chanted continuously and develop new ideas.
This poem was published in "Xuewen", Volume 1, Issue 1, April 1934. There are two opinions about this poem: one is written in memory of Xu Zhimo, and the other is written for the birth of his son to express his hope for his son and the joy brought by his son's birth.
