China's modern poetry mainly refers to the poetry since the May 4th Movement, written in vernacular Chinese, which broke the old rules of poetry.
China's contemporary poetry is divided into several stages:
1, the new folk song movement in the late 1950s;
In 1950s and 1960s, political lyrics (carols and war songs) were the most popular.
3. In 1970s, Tiananmen Poetry Movement (1976);
4. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, misty poetry rose;
In 1980s, the mimeographed publication Today was founded, which reversed the historical process of contemporary poetry.
