1On February 6th, 925, Yu Si published his first symbolic poem "Abandoned Wife". In the same year, in February, 65438, a collection of poems, Slight Rain, was published. In the next two or three years, he published Poems, Diners and Bad Years, and Songs for Happiness. These unique poems caused different comments, but everyone unanimously called him "Poetic Strange", such as Feng Naichao, Wang, Mu and Hu Yepin. , also began to create symbolic poetry. Wang published poems such as Winnie's City and Before the Statue of the Virgin, Mu and Feng Naichao published poems such as Journey of Mind and Red respectively. These young poets formed the earliest symbolism poetry school in China.
In 1930s, symbolism poetry prevailed. From 65438 to 0932, the monthly magazine Modern edited by Shi Zhecun, Du Heng and Dai Wangshu and the monthly magazine New Poetry founded by Dai Wangshu promoted the development of China's modernist poetry. At that time, many famous poets in China were influenced by modernist literature to varying degrees. Dai Wangshu's poems such as Sunset and The Sonnets are obviously influenced by symbolist poets. Xu Zhimo translated the dead body in Baudelaire's Flowers of Evil in the 1920s. And think that this poem is "the most evil fairy flower in the collection of poems" Flowers of Evil ". Influenced by Baudelaire, ugly images also appeared in Xu Zhimo's poems. In the poem "Another Experiment" describing God's re-creation of human beings, the image of angels is also extremely ugly: "My old man will never be fooled again,/seeing holiness and filth,-/How exasperating the situation here is,/Which angel has no maggots! "Feng Zhi was deeply influenced by the symbolist poet Rilke. In 1930s, he translated ten letters written by Rilke to a young poet. Rilke is good at revealing profound philosophy through concrete images in poems. For example, his famous poem Leopard is a philosophical portrayal of the contradiction between man and society in capitalist society. Influenced by Rilke, Feng Zhi also expressed his abstract philosophy with images of grass, roads and trees.
He Qifang's symbolic poem "Prophecy" published in 193 1 was obviously influenced by the French symbolic poet Valerie. He himself said that he "likes some French symbolist poets and even some great poets" and "is fascinated by French symbolism works". In addition to reading a lot of French symbolism works, he also studied Eliot's poems such as The Waste Land and was influenced. 1934- 1935 wrote Sick, with two chapters of short songs, The Ancient City, Night Scene, Sleepless Night and Sandstorm Day, similar to Eliot's poetic style. The gloomy style is the desperate cry of people wandering in the wasteland. Modernism also influenced China's novel creation in the 1920s and 1930s. Shi Zhecun wrote many stream-of-consciousness novels during this period. The Night of Plum Rain, published in the late 1920s, describes the subconscious and the stream of consciousness. In this work, the boundary of normal time is broken, and the past, present and future are confused. The plot is vague and the characters are confusing. The roadside salesgirl's eyes seem to be his wife's melancholy eyes, and the girl in the rain looks like her first love.
