The text on Qin Shihuang’s inscription

1. Zoyi Mountain Monument

The emperor founded the country, Weichu was in the past, and his successors were kings. The crusade against chaos and rebellion stirs up the power of the four extremes, and the martial justice is straightforward. The Rong ministers obeyed the imperial edict, and after a short period of time, the six violent and powerful forces were destroyed. In the second and sixth years, he was recommended to a high position and his filial piety was evident. After offering great success, he sent special favors and personally visited distant places. Climbing Mount Yi, all the ministers and followers are thinking deeply. Reminiscing about the troubled times, dividing the land and building a country to open up disputes. Attacks and battles are fought day by day, and blood is shed in the wilds, since ancient times. There are countless people in the world, and none of them, including Tuo and the Five Emperors, can stop them. Now the emperor has one family and the world, and the army will no longer rise. Disasters are eliminated, Guizhou is in peace and stability, and the benefits are long-lasting. The ministers recited the poem and engraved it on this music stone to record the scriptures.

Note: This is the first stele engraved by Qin Shihuang when he consecrated Mount Tai. Like other steles carved by Qin Shihuang, its inscriptions are rich in content and simple in language. The intention is profound and majestic, but it is unmatched by other inscriptions!

2. Fengchan Taishan Stele

Serve Heaven with courtesy and establish yourself with righteousness. Serve your father with instruction, and serve adults with benevolence. Within the four defenses, there are no counties or counties. There are four barbarians and eight barbarians, and Xian has no tribute. The people are sheltered and the people are at peace, and the heavenly fortune will always be obtained. The name will be changed on the carved stone.

Note: The above inscription is not recorded in "Historical Records". When Mr. Huang Zhongye recorded this article in his masterpiece "Qin Shihuang Yingzheng Biography", he made a special note: "The text on the stone carvings is not recorded in the "Historical Records".
