About the author:
Gao Qi (1336— 1374), a native of Changzhou county (now Suzhou city), was a poet in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. Gao Qi was born in a wealthy family. His parents died when he was a child, and he was alert by nature. He read a book and couldn't forget it for a long time. He is particularly good at history and loves poetry. He often studied poetry with ten people, including Zhang Yu, Wang Xing and Wang Xing, and was called "Ten Talented Scholars in the North". At the same time, he, Yang Ji and Zhang Yu are also called "four outstanding people in Wuzhong", also known as "four outstanding people in the early Ming Dynasty". Although both of them are "Top Ten Talents" and tied for "Four Outstanding Writers", Gao Qi's literary achievements far surpass others.
