Bian Gong's Character Evaluation
Bian Gong had a smooth career all his life, but he was even more idle in his later years. His poems are plain and concise in tone and poor in content. His Yuefu and ancient poems are inferior to those of Li Mengyang and He Jingming. Occasionally written "Complaining about Building a Bridge" and "Holding a Husband's Ballad" are also appropriate works to embellish the tradition of satirical sayings in Yuefu, which have no real feelings of the creators and have little artistic appeal. What can better express his style is Wu Qiyan, which is praised by many poetry critics. However, the materials are relatively narrow, generally entertaining words such as sending, sending, Jane, harmony, answering and sending, or regular works expressing feelings such as New Year's Day, birthday and cold food. Some of these poems reveal a touch of sadness in the poet's life, but most of them are moaning without illness. He also wrote several good poems, such as "The heroic spirit of the Prime Minister has not disappeared, and the curtain lamp is cold." Gankun's mighty body is hard to send, the road is near the dream, the flowers are outside the city, and the water is fine in Zhejiang. There are also West Lake trees in the ancestral hall, but the southern branches did not grow in the northern dynasties "(Advocating Wenshan Temple). Elegant image and clear and mellow language also reflect the poet's reverence for patriotic national heroes. But on the whole, among the "Four Masters" (Li Mengyang, He Jingming, Xu Zhenqing and Bian Gong), his creative achievements are poor. His works include Hua Quan Ji.
