Reflections on visiting the Northeast Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall
During the National Day, I took my children to visit the Northeast Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall in Xiaoshi Town, Benxi County. Although it is quite a long time ago, looking at the restored scenes and reading the historical introduction, people feel a lot of emotion and are moved by the heroic deeds of the revolutionary martyrs.
The museum building is a 3-story building built in 1931 in the Western European classical architectural style. The memorial hall was originally the Puppet Harbin Police Department, a criminal site where the Japanese invaders suppressed the Chinese people. Later, it was changed to the Northeast Martyrs Memorial Hall in order to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died in the Northeast Anti-Japanese War and the Liberation War. The anti-Japanese national heroine Zhao Yiman was tortured here and then went to the execution ground. The museum has a collection of more than 7,000 items and more than 5,000 historical materials. Important collections include the mattress used by the anti-Japanese national hero General Yang Jingyu, the old woolen trousers worn by General Li Zhaolin when he was assassinated by Kuomintang agents, and the Mao Zedong Medal, a special military medal awarded by the nationally renowned combat hero Dong Cunrui after he sacrificed his life in bombing an enemy fort.
The Northeast Martyrs Memorial Hall, which was born amidst the roaring gunfire of the Liberation War, has gone through a journey of more than half a century and has played a huge role in patriotic education for several generations. Entering the museum, you will see a statue of the "Unsung Heroes" in front of you. It is to commemorate those revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives unknown to everyone, and we presented flowers to express our memory and respect for them. After the ceremony, we followed the narrator to relive that heavy history.
The cultural relics in the collection reflect the life of the Anti-Japanese War in Northeast China, including the anti-Japanese military struggle, secret camp life, cultural learning, mass support, etc. There are precious revolutionary cultural relics such as the old shirt, the pistol used by Zhao Shangzhi, the large bowl used by Zhao Yiman and the letter written to Ning'er, and the bloody clothes worn by Li Zhaolin when he died. The bacterial bomb casings of the "731 Unit" of the Japanese invaders are evidence of the atrocities committed by the Japanese invaders. On September 18, 1931, the Japanese imperialists created the "September 18th" incident and the invaders quickly invaded Northeast my country. Due to Chiang Kai-shek's "non-resistance" policy, the three northeastern provinces quickly fell. The walls of the exhibition hall of the memorial hall are covered with photos and various documents taken at that time, which are enough to prove the fact that the Japanese invaders occupied our territory and also exposed their ugly crimes. Many precious historical relics are displayed in the memorial hall. In the exhibition hall, the gray serge gown worn by General Yang Jingyu is displayed. The rifles, machine guns, pistols used by the revolutionary martyrs, and pistols used by the generals and the weapons used for taking photos are also displayed. In some places, wax figures of scenes and characters were made, vividly showing the difficult years of the revolution at that time. Then the commentator took us to another floor, where the revolutionary martyr Zhao Yiman was once imprisoned. Facing the enemy's torture, she did not give in. The enemy poured gasoline mixed with chili and millet into her mouth. It was poured into my mouth and nose, and what was poured in was millet, but what was spit out were blood drops the size of soybean grains. It is difficult for me to imagine how painful torture it was. The will shown by Zhao Yiman in the face of severe torture by the enemy is exactly the will of the vast number of Chinese revolutionaries, an unyielding will, an indelible will. It is this will that achieved the ultimate victory of the Chinese revolution. victory.
This visit not only allowed us to relive that period of history, but also provided us with a patriotic education and learned the spirit of the revolutionary martyrs. As a college student, I should inherit this spirit. In the moment of national crisis, it is worth sacrificing one's life in exchange for the rejuvenation of the motherland. The reason why we have a beautiful life today is because of the blood of those revolutionary martyrs. exchanged. We must not forget our history, and we must remember those revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
After the visit, we slowly walked out of the memorial hall. At this time, the scenes that appeared in the memorial hall still flashed through my mind one by one, and there was a heavy feeling in my heart that was difficult to express in words. In the memorial hall, pieces of historical relics were lying there quietly, but I could vaguely hear the heroic warriors of that era, Yang Jingyu, Zhao Shangzhi... Seeing the way the martyrs sacrificed their lives, it made me cry! However, they still preserved their national integrity and did not bow to the raised butcher knife; nor did they bow to the raised whip. All of this still makes us think deeply today. As today's young people, we must Inherit and carry forward this glorious tradition.
I looked at the cars passing by on the wide road outside, and the neat city high-rise buildings standing tall. China is no longer a sleeping lion, but a rising and rapidly developing country. We must remember those revolutionary martyrs who shed their blood for the country, continue to carry forward their spirit, and contribute to the prosperity of the motherland.
