Can I compare you to a summer day?
You are cuter and gentler;
The wind shook the lovely buds of May,
The lease in summer is too short;
Sometimes the eye of heaven shines too hot,
His golden complexion often darkens;
Every market sometimes declines,
A process of accidental or natural change.
But your eternal summer will not fade
Nor will you lose the beauty you have;
Death will not boast that you wander in his shadow,
When you grow up in eternal time:
As long as human beings can breathe and see,
This is eternal, which gives you life.
Can I compare you to summer?
You are more beautiful and gentle than summer.
The strong wind in May withered the buds,
How short summer is.
Don't fall in love with that beautiful day,
There will be fog in the blink of an eye.
Don't sigh, flowers bloom and fall,
Break through in a hurry in an impermanent fate.
Only your eternal summer is new every day,
Your beauty is intact.
Death has no chance to imprison you,
You will live forever in my eternal poem.
As long as someone recites my poem,
This poem will be immortal and keep your beauty forever.
Just as the same person can have more than one photo or portrait, a poem can also have more than one translation. Naturally, this photo, portrait and translation will not be exactly the same, but there will be good and bad points. However, due to different tastes of viewers, different works will get different scores in the eyes of different viewers.
The artistic feature of this poem lies in its dual themes: one is to praise the beauty of the poet's love for friends, and the other is to praise the immortal power of poetry. Secondly, the poet uses novel metaphors in his poems, but they are natural and vivid.
Shakespeare's Sonnets 18
Sonnets 18
Can I compare you to summer?
Can I compare you to a mild summer day?
You are cuter and gentler;
But you are more lovely and charming;
The wind shook the lovely buds of May,
Strong winds will destroy beautiful and delicate buds,
The lease in summer is too short.
The promises made in summer are always too short.
Sometimes the eye of heaven shines too hot,
The sun is sometimes too hot and bright,
His golden complexion often darkens,
The golden appearance is usually dull,
Every market sometimes declines,
Everything that comes from beauty fades away,
Accidental or natural process of change, untrimm.
This is fate, a natural law, simple and clear.
But your eternal summer will not die,
But the endless summer will not disappear,
Or lose the beauty you know,
Your natural beauty will never decline,
Death will not boast that you wander in his shadow,
Even the shadow of death dare not lose you,
When you grow inside time;
You met time in eternal verse;
As long as human beings can breathe and see,
As long as there are people breathing and watching in the world,
This is eternal, which gives you life.
This poem exists, and you live in it.
