Extra-curricular books refer to books other than textbooks in class. Reading extra-curricular books can gain more theoretical knowledge. Facing the vast sea of books, if reading has no purpose and plan, it will be at a loss. Middle school students spend most of their time in class and finish the learning tasks of the day every day.
So there is not much time available for reading, especially after class. If reading has no purpose and plan, precious reading time will not be fully and profitably utilized. Extracurricular books include: novels, fairy tales, biographies, fables, poems, essays, jokes, brain teasers, four classic novels, world famous books, martial arts books and so on. As long as it's not in class or in textbooks, it's all extracurricular books.
Extracurricular reading is the extracurricular expansion and extension of Chinese teaching, the most important content in extracurricular Chinese activities, the continuation and expansion of in-class reading and an indispensable part of reading ability.
Although in-class reading plays an obvious role in improving primary school students' Chinese level and acquiring knowledge and experience, without the assistance of extracurricular reading, no matter how efficient in-class reading is, it will not get obvious results, or even get twice the result with half the effort.
