Traveler's poem

"Born between heaven and earth, I suddenly feel like a passer-by" comes from "On the cypress tree in the Green Ling"

This poem means: "Life in heaven and earth is like a passer-by", which comes from "The Qing Mausoleum on Mount Bai" in Nineteen Ancient Poems. It means the sky above, the ground below, of course, is more eternal; People born between heaven and earth, however, hurry home like travelers. Metaphor is the shortness of life. When you travel far away from home, you will be homesick. When you get there, you can't stay long. Life is not only short, but also means world-weariness.

The original text is as follows: the famous "Green Mausoleum on Baishang" in Han Dynasty.

The Green Mausoleum is on the cypress, and Leileixi is on the stone.

Life between heaven and earth is like a passer-by.

Drink and socialize, talk thick but not thin.

Driving a car, playing the game of Wanhe Luo.

Why are you depressed in Romania? The crown belt is self-contained.

Long winding paths lead to secluded and narrow lanes, and princes live first.

The two palaces face each other at a distance, and the double gap exceeds 100 feet.

Very entertaining, why pretend to be forced?

"On the Green Mausoleum and Cypress" is a five-character rhythmic poem written by literati in Han Dynasty, and it is one of the nineteen ancient poems. The author of this poem plays the game of Wan Luo, which is intended for his career. However, he found that this magnificent palace, the capital of collusion and poverty, did not belong to his world, and he wrote his personal feelings about injustice and dissatisfaction with reality. In art, the whole poem pays attention to spreading and improving images; Enhance lyricism with contrast; Use rhetorical questions to enhance the meaning.

works appreciation

This poem and another poem in Nineteen Ancient Poems, Driving to the East Gate, have the same effect in feeling that life is short, but the artistic conception and image meaning are quite different. The hero of Driving East Gate looks at Beimang, sad, and only thinks about the enjoyment of life before and after death; The hero of this poem sighed when visiting the capital, thinking not only that he is dead, but also that he should eat and dress well.

Creation background

The time and author of Nineteen Ancient Poems have always been a hot issue in the study of Han and Wei literature, and various viewpoints are colorful. Yuwen Suoan thinks that China's early poems are a kind of copying system, and there is no conclusive evidence to prove that "ancient poetry" was earlier than Jian 'an period. Mu Zhai put forward nineteen ancient poems, which are an important part of Jian 'an poetry. Most of these poems were written by Cao Zhi. Shan Li's annotation Zhao Wenming's Selected Miscellaneous Businessmen suggested that its author was anonymous in the Eastern Han Dynasty, which is also the most popular mainstream view since the 20th century. Judging from the description of the Green Mausoleum on Baishang, its author should be an anonymous person in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and a scholar from the middle class of society. He wrote this poem while traveling in Beijing, recording the social crisis and the mentality of scholars in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Its founding time should be decades earlier than that of Dixian Jian 'an in the late Han Dynasty.
