The works in Jian 'an period truly reflect the real turmoil and people's suffering, and express the ideal of making contributions and the spirit of being proactive. At the same time, it also reveals the bitterness that life is short and ambition is hard to pay. Its artistic conception is grand, its writing style is distinct, and it has distinct characteristics and personality of the times. Its vigorous, deep, generous and sad artistic style is called "Jian 'an Style" or "Wei-Jin Style" in the history of literature.
