China ancient poetess came from the south of the Yangtze River. ..

I once said in "Notes on Jiangnan Culture": "Jiangnan culture in the Ming and Qing Dynasties produced many figures, including many heroes, literati, beauties and celebrities. From the perspective of historical figures, it just shows the richness of China culture. " The colorful Jiangnan culture gave birth to a large number of beautiful women and celebrities, which shone brightly in the Ming and Qing literary circles. According to Hu's research statistics on women's works in past dynasties, there are 2258 women writers in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, accounting for 70.9% of the total number of women writers in the Qing Dynasty. The lower reaches of the Yangtze River are basically the same as Jiangnan, which shows the prosperity of Jiangnan female literature in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The study of female literature in Ming and Qing dynasties began in the early years of the Republic of China. Shi's A Survey of Poets in Qing Dynasty, A History of Women's Literature in Qing Dynasty, Shan Shili's A Brief History of Ladies, and Tong Zhenzao's Poems of Celebrities in Qing Dynasty have been published successively. The most important achievement is the Textual Research on Women's Works in Past Dynasties published by Hu in 1950s. Its collection of books is unparalleled, which can be called "the revival of women's studies and the prosperity of the forest of art" (Pan Xu). However, for a long time afterwards, Chinese mainland's research on women's literature was relatively silent. At present, the study of women's literature has become an international school. The United States and China have held international academic seminars on women and literature and women's writing in for many times, resulting in a series of monographs, such as The Scholars —— Jiangnan Talented Women's Culture in the Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties, Man Sun's Documentary ——/Kloc-China Women Around the 0/8th Century, Zhang's Talented Women and Sun Kangyi's Interpretation of Classical and Modern Women. This upsurge of women's literature research also has ups and downs in mainland China. In May 2000, Nanjing University held an international seminar on "Literature and Gender in Ming and Qing Dynasties" and published a collection of essays "Literature and Gender Studies in Ming and Qing Dynasties". Later, Zhang Hongsheng and Zhang Yan edited The Study of Ancient Female Poets, which marked that the study of ancient female literature in Chinese mainland entered a new stage. In just a few years, he has published several doctoral dissertations: A History of Women's Ci, A Study of Jiangnan Poetry Groups and Boudoir Poets in Jiaqing Period of Qing Dynasty, Bao Zhenpei's Essay on the Drama Novels of Women Poets in Qing Dynasty, and Duan's Study of Boudoir Literature in Qing Dynasty. Mainland academic circles have always been keen on the study of female literature.
