Du Fu was born in the Du family of Jingzhao, a noble family, and was the grandson of Du Shenyan, a poet in the early Tang Dynasty. In the third year of Kaiyuan of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (715), he was fostered at the house of his aunt in Luoyang at the age of four. In Kaiyuan, he went to take the imperial examination and failed, and then wandered around the country. In the sixth year of Tianbao, he went to Beijing to take the examination again, but was rejected by Li Linfu and was trapped in Chang'an for ten years. The Anshi Rebellion broke out and he defected to Emperor Suzong of the Tang Dynasty. , awarded Zuo Shiyi.
After regaining Chang'an, he was demoted to Huazhou Sigong and joined the army; soon he abandoned his official position and went to Shu, settling in Huanhuaxi Caotang, Chengdu; he once served as Yan Wumu, the military governor of Jiannan, and was a member of the Ministry of Inspection and Industry. . In his later years, he became poor and ill, and wanted to return north with his family. He left Shu in the third year of Dali (768), and died of illness in a boat on the Xiangjiang River in the fifth year of Dali at the age of 59.
In the second year of Qianyuan (759), Du Fu abandoned his official position and took his family to Qinzhou (now Tianshui, Gansu Province), where he wrote poems such as "Qinzhou Miscellaneous Poems" and "Dream of Li Bai". In October, I went to Tonggu and wrote a set of poems along the way. After arriving in Tonggu, he wrote "Seven Songs Composed While Living in Tonggu County during the Qianyuan Period".
