Liu Yuxi's Zhi Zhu poem "Willow Green Jiang Shuiping, I can hear the song on the Langjiang River. It rains in the east and rains in the west. " (Qing and Love)
The folk song "Midnight Song (I)" written by Yuefu in the Jin Dynasty: "When you first want to know the song, your two hearts are regarded as one. If I put my thoughts into the machine, I can't realize it. " ("Silk" and "Thinking" are in harmony; "Enlightenment" and "error" are harmonious)
The Western Zhou Song in Yuefu Poems: "Bow your head and take lotus seeds, as blue as water. When you hold them in your arms, the lotus plums are completely red. " Lotus seed is in harmony with Reiko Kobayakawa, lotus seed is in harmony with compassion.
There are many examples of puns in classical poetry, some of which are very representative.
First, "lotus" and "hibiscus", "lotus" and "cherish", "lotus" and "even" are homophonic puns.
This pun frequently appeared in Wu Ge, a folk song in the Southern Dynasties. For example:
"Hibiscus is planted on a high mountain. When passing through Huangbaiwu, it is difficult for displaced babies to get a lotus." (midnight song) "I miss the lotus for a long time, but I only cherish the concentric lotus root." (Reading Quge) Hibiscus is a kind of plant in nature, and lotus root is the rhizome of lotus. These two examples use the homonym of "hibiscus" to mean "hibiscus".
Second, "Si" and "Xiang" are homophonic puns.
Li Shangyin's Untitled poem contains puns such as "When the silkworm dies, the candle is exhausted at night", "Silk" and "Thinking", which means that as long as there is breath, the infatuation will not change, but in fact it refers to faithful love. "Spring silkworms are not old, and they are always pregnant day and night. Why do you cherish the slightest body? " This poem also uses puns skillfully.
Third, "Liu" and "Liu" are homophonic puns
In ancient times, when parting, willows were often broken off from the roadside to express their reluctance. Those willows also stayed. For example, Li Bai's "Smelling the Flute in Los Angeles on a Spring Night": "Who can hear the willow bend over in this nocturne and can't afford to miss home!" The flute plays a song "Folding Willow", which belongs to the ancient music of Han Yuefu and expresses the pain of parting journey. Listening to the distant flute, Li Bai couldn't help falling homesick. Another example is Wang Wei's "Two Ambassadors Anxi": "It's raining in Weicheng, and the guest house is green and willow." "Liu" is not only a description of the scenery, but also a hidden "stay".
Fourth, "period" and "chess" are homophonic puns.
"Midnight Song (Part 2)": "We broke up tonight. When shall we meet again? It's not long before the bright light shines on the empty bureau! " "Period" is the homonym of "chess", which means I don't know when I can meet you after "farewell". It's really like an endless chess game. Its sadness is vivid on paper. In the Tang Dynasty's "Two New Words", there are: "Light a candle at the bottom of the well, * * Lang Changxing Movic." Longxing is an ancient game.
"Skin" is a semantic pun on "cloth" and "puppet"
"Midnight Song": "I want to know Lang at first, and my heart is one. If you put your thoughts into the machine, you won't get a horse. " The word "horse" in the poem refers to both cloth and horse puppet. This woman expected two of a kind to have a happy ending, but she didn't expect the man to be ungrateful, leaving her with a tangled thread that could not be woven into a horse to express her betrayal.
