Yuefu Poetry compiled by Guo Maoqian in the Northern Song Dynasty classified Xizhou Song as a miscellaneous song and inscribed it as an ancient poem. There are different opinions about the age and author of this poem. Some versions say Jiang Yan or Liang Wudi, but they are not credible.
Judging from the style and technical words, it should be a folk song in the late Southern Dynasty. After being processed and polished by literati, it may have originated in the Liang Dynasty. According to the sentence of "Xizhou Qu" written by Wen, Xizhou has a beautiful scenery, and Wuchang Tower can be seen from a distance. It is speculated that Xizhou should be near Wuchang, which may be Nautilus Island in the Changjiang River southwest of Wuchang. This is a love song that combines the author's profile description with the self-expression of the characters.
Correlation appreciation
The main artistic features of this poem are as follows: First, it is good at expressing the thoughts and feelings of the characters in a dynamic way. For example, the sentence "Lu" in "Door" vividly expresses the mood of the characters through actions, and the six sentences in "Lotus Picking in Autumn in Nantang" are the essence of the whole article. It focuses on pen and ink, describes the protagonist's emotional posture, expresses his feelings through things, and writes the changes of the characters' feelings in a very hierarchical way through three actions: picking lotus, making lotus and setting lotus. The psychological description of the action is nuanced and touching.
The second is the overlapping of words and the application of reason. In the scene of opening the door to welcome the guests, the overlap of the four words strengthens the anxiety of women who are eager for the arrival of their sweetheart and look out through the door from time to time. In the scene of picking lotus flowers, seven lotus characters are used together, deliberately rendering the lingering feelings of women.
