Ci began in the Liang Dynasty and was formed in the Tang Dynasty. It flourished in the Song Dynasty. Poetry can be traced back to the Book of Songs.
2. In terms of title:
Poems can be freely chosen, and the words must have a name.
3. From the perspective of the relationship with music:
In ancient times, things that were not suitable for music were called poems, and those that were suitable for music were called songs. In modern times, they are collectively called poetry.
4. In terms of form:

Poems include rhymed verses and quatrains, which are divided into seven-character and five-character poems. The metrical verses are neat and uniform, and the length of the ancient poems is arbitrary.
Words can be roughly divided into Xiaoling (within 58 characters), Zhongdiao (59 to 90 characters) and Longdiao (more than 91 characters, the longest word is 240 characters). Some of a word has only one paragraph, which is called monotonous; some is divided into two paragraphs, which is called double tone; some is divided into three or four paragraphs, which is called triple or quadruple. Moreover, words have word tags, and words have a fixed format under each word tag name, and there are requirements for the number of words in each sentence.
(2) The rhyme rules of poetry are also different:
Rhyme poems only use plain rhyme, one rhyme to the end, and the rhyme is repeated in every other sentence, and the first sentence may or may not be suppressed;
The words are flat and oblique, and the rhyme can be changed in the middle. The density of the rhymes is uncertain, but it is determined by the meter.
