Leng Shilin, a native of Rushan in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, wrote in The Story of Kongtong Mountain: "The peak of Kongtong Mountain is only a few miles away from the sea. It is often said by old people that it used to be a seaport." (Continued to state records) Shell casings were found on Kongtong Mountain. Old people say that this used to be a seaport, but now it has become a mountain. From a geological point of view, this phenomenon is entirely possible. Just like the discovery of fish fossils in the Himalayas, nature is changing all the time, and people only need to know it scientifically. Unfortunately, the author didn't have a chance to look for shells on Kongtong Mountain. I really hope people in Rushan tourism department think so. If shells exist on high mountains, it is a fascinating natural mystery. Kongtong Mountain rises from the bottom of the sea, which is also an attractive tourism topic. Tourism needs cultural support. Some people say that culture is the soul of tourism, and the lack of culture will make tourism fall into low-level and superficial, which makes sense. The injection of cultural connotation will improve the quality and realm of tourism. If so, Kongtong Mountain will become a mountain with aura, a mountain that travels through time and space, endless books and endless paintings. Let's carry forward the culture of Kongtong Mountain and enhance the tourism realm of Kongtong Mountain.
The author swam to Kongtong Mountain 20 years ago, and also read the poems of predecessors who swam to Kongtong Mountain, especially one of the high-end works, You Wan:
It's fun to be alone, all the way deep in the forest.
Shan Gui answers firewood, and wild birds guess.
Strange stones fly, flying clouds fill stones.
Outside the world, I'm scratching my head.
The charming Kongtong Mountain is calling to us. We should walk in, forget the noise of the world and walk into a cool world.
