This collection of essays is the product of the translation research and practice of the poet Professor Wang Jiaxin in recent years. The first volume of this anthology takes translation as the starting point, discusses the internal relationship between translation and the "modernity" of China's new poems, and expounds poetry, translation and poetics in a broader perspective; The second part investigates how modern and contemporary poets in China identify, talk about and forge poetry through translation, and discusses the nature and significance of this poetry practice. The third series examines the translation of some western poets and translators, and tries to reveal the enlightenment brought by this translation. These three series are interrelated. Studying history is for the present, and facing others is for returning to oneself more deeply. The author regards writing and translation as a brief introduction to Wang Jiaxin and a recognition of life. This monograph is of great significance and value for refreshing and expanding the understanding of language, translation and existence itself, and for constructing a new "future-oriented" translation poetics.
Brief introduction of the author
Wang Jiaxin, a poet, critic and translator, 1957, from Danjiangkou, Hubei Province, was admitted to the Chinese Department of Wuhan University after resuming the college entrance examination. At present, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Literature, Renmin University of China. There are twenty or thirty kinds of poems, poetry essays, translated poems and other kinds of works, which run through the development of contemporary poetry for more than thirty years, and are called "the apocalypse of contemporary poetry in China".
