Fruit trees have these requirements for the environment
1. Temperature: Apple likes a cool climate. The most suitable temperature condition for growth is the annual average temperature of 7-14°C, with the coldest in winter. The average temperature in January (January) is between -10 ℃ and 7 ℃. The average temperature during the entire growing season (April to October) is 13-18°C, and in summer (from June to August) the average temperature is 18-24°C. During the fruit maturity period, the temperature difference between day and night is above 10°C, and the fruit is well colored. Root activity needs to be above 3-4°C, suitable growth temperature is 7-12°C; bud germination is 8-10°C, flowering is 15-18°C, fruit development and flower bud differentiation is 17-25°C; cold temperature is required <7.2°C for 1200 hours.
2. Light: Apple is a light-loving tree species. The production of high-quality apples generally requires 2200-2800 hours of sunshine per year, especially no less than 300 hours in August-September. Annual sunshine hours <1500 hours or average monthly sunshine hours <150 hours in the later stages of fruit growth will significantly affect fruit quality. If the light intensity is less than 30% of natural light, flower buds cannot form.
3. Moisture: To produce high-quality apples in a drier climate, generally the annual precipitation is 500-800 mm, which is suitable for apple growth. If the rainfall during the growth period is about 500 ml and is evenly distributed, it can basically meet the tree's water needs.
4. Soil: The soil is required to be fertile and deep, with a soil depth of more than 1 meter. The soil pH is preferably 5.7-8.2. Sandy loam soil rich in organic matter is best, and the organic matter content should be within More than 1%.
