Appreciation of Modern Poem Facing the Sea and Blooming in Spring

Haizi (1964- 1989), formerly known as Cha Haisheng, is a contemporary young poet from Chawan Village, Gaohe Town, Huaining County, Anhui Province. Haizi grew up in the countryside. At the age of 65,438+0979, he was admitted to Peking University Law Department. 65,438+0982 began to write poetry during college. After Peking University graduated, he was assigned to work in the Philosophy Department of China University of Political Science and Law. On March 26th, 65,438+0989, he committed suicide near Shanhaiguan. He is only 25 years old. In his short career as a poet, Haizi kept a holy heart. He was not understood by the world for a long time, but he was a poet who tried his best to impact the limits of literature and life in the history of China's new literature in the 1980s.

I only want to face the sea and spring blossoms.

The verb in the first paragraph is action, the verb in the second paragraph is telling, and the verb in the third paragraph is blessing (wish). At the beginning of the three paragraphs is an imperative sentence, which is a combination of desire and action. However, at the end of the poem, there is only one wish: facing the sea, spring blossoms. From the perspective of verbs, "I" returns from action to desire, from "being a happy person" to confirming the state at that time-I only want to face the sea and bloom in spring. Finally, I gave up the action. Just like today, I have the beauty in my heart, but there is no happy life on earth. The poet gave up "tomorrow". In their comments, many critics emphasize that "happiness tomorrow" means unhappiness today. For example, Yang Wenjun wrote in "Melancholy Haizi, Melancholy Poetry": "The so-called' Be a happy person from tomorrow' is an ironic statement, which means that we are not happy now, and' tomorrow' is just a dim time." These comments are reasonable, but poetry is more complicated and secretive. In fact, whether it is today's spring flowers or tomorrow's trip around the world, it is the realm of spiritual imagination, and people's happiness is not always a continuous state, always in yesterday's memory, today's feelings and tomorrow's expectations. The yearning for tomorrow certainly means some denial of reality, but it also flashes the hope of happiness. The real sadness of this poem is not to tell the unhappiness of the present and the hope for tomorrow, but to give up tomorrow. "I" finally felt that the action I imagined was worthless to the world, and even there was no place for my action in my imagination. "Wishing only" is an affirmation of the present, but this affirmation is at the expense of denying tomorrow. The first paragraph of the poem is an affirmation of tomorrow, "Be a happy person from tomorrow"-implying a denial of today. The "only wish" at the end of the poem is an affirmation of reality-implying a denial of tomorrow. If today's unhappiness is regrettable, then the denial of tomorrow is the real tragedy. Tomorrow, as a beam of light that illuminates today, passes away like lightning in a poem. It can't warm the world, strangers and my future.
