Poetic lines describing autumn trees

1. "Five Autumn Poems of Changxin" by Wang Changling of the Tang Dynasty

Original text:

The autumn leaves of Jinjing sycamore are yellow, and the bead curtains are not rolled up by the night frost.

The jade pillow in the fumigation cage has no color, and I can lie down and listen to Nangong Qing's leakage.

Translation: The autumn leaves of the phoenix trees beside the golden well are gradually turning yellow, and the bead curtains are not rolled up to know the frost at night. The jade pillow in the smoked cage is like a haggard face, lying quietly and worrying, listening to the long leaking sound of Nangong.

2. "Eight Autumn Poems" by Du Fu of the Tang Dynasty

Original text:

The jade dew withered the maple forest, and the Wu Gorge of Wushan was desolate.

The waves in the river and the sky are rising, blocking the wind and clouds and grounding the clouds.

The chrysanthemums in bloom will shed tears in the future, and the lonely boat will be linked to the heart of the hometown.

Han Yi is urging the sword and ruler everywhere, and Baidi City is high and anxious at dusk.

Translation: Cold dew has withered the maple trees, and the weather in Wushan Gorge is bleak and gloomy. The waves in the river surged to the sky, and the wind and clouds on the fortress became gloomy.

Cong Ju opened her eyes twice and shed tears as she recalled the past. The lonely boat tied to the river bank seemed to be tied to my heart of longing for my hometown. Every family is using knives and rulers to make cold clothes, and the sound of anvil pounding clothes can be heard from high up in Baidi City at night.

3. "Ascending Xie Zhenbei Tower in Xuancheng in Autumn" by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty

Original text:

The river city is like a painting, and the mountains look up to the clear sky at night.

Two waters hold a bright mirror, and two bridges hold a rainbow.

The crowds are cold, the oranges and pomeloes are cold, and the old sycamores are in autumn colors.

Who wants to be in the north building and thank you in the wind?

Translation: The city by the river was as beautiful as in a painting. When the mountains were getting darker, I climbed up to the Xie Tiao Tower and gazed into the clear sky. Wanxi and Juxi are like bright mirrors surrounding Xuancheng, and the two bridges of Fenghuang and Jichuan are like rainbows falling into the world. The thin cold smoke rising from the villages lingered among the oranges and pomelos, and the sycamore trees were old and withered in the deep autumn colors. Who else but me would think of coming to Xie Tiao North Tower and thinking about the poet Xie Gong of the Southern Qi Dynasty in the autumn wind of Xiao Sa?

4. "Thoughts on the Mid-Autumn Festival in Fujian" by Du Xunhe of the Tang Dynasty

Original text:

The rain is even and the purple chrysanthemums are colored, and the wind is making the sound of red banana leaves.

On the north side is the mountain and on the south side is the sea, which can only be described as a picture.

Translation: The autumn rain makes the purple chrysanthemums in the clusters evenly colored, and the golden wind rustles the red banana leaves. Central Fujian is surrounded by high mountains to the north and the turbulent sea to the south. It is convenient for drawing and painting, but the road is rugged and difficult to travel.

5. "Sleeping in the Autumn Rain" by Bai Juyi of the Tang Dynasty

Original text:

On a cool autumn night, an old man was at ease.

After the lights went out, I fell asleep to the sound of beautiful rain.

The ashes warm the fire in the bottle, and the incense warms the quilt.

The dawn is clear and the cold has not yet risen, and the frost leaves are all red.

Translation: On a cool late autumn night, another old man was leisurely and at ease. After blowing out the lamp, I finally lay down to sleep, and gradually fell asleep to the sound of autumn rain. The fire in the brazier has been extinguished. Add some fire and toast the quilt. It was sunny in the morning and I didn't want to think about the cold weather. I looked outside the window and saw that the leaves on the trees were red with frost.
