The Yellow Crane Tower sends Meng Haoran to Guangling
Li Bai
The old friend bids farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and fireworks descend to Yangzhou in March.
The shadow of the lone sail in the distance is gone in the blue sky, and only the Yangtze River can be seen flowing in the sky.
Explanation of poetry
My old friend said goodbye to me at the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and went to Yangzhou in the spring of March, when the smoke was thick and the flowers were blooming. The sail shadow of the solitary boat gradually disappeared into the distance at the end of the blue sky, and only the Yangtze River could be seen flowing toward the horizon.

Appreciation of poems
Li Bai’s relationship with Meng Haoran happened not long after he left Sichuan, when he was young and happy. The world is still almost as beautiful as gold. Meng Haoran, who was more than ten years older than Li Bai, was already famous for his poems all over the world. The poet sent his friend off for a long journey, full of envy that his old friend was going to the prosperous Yangzhou, and the poem was filled with joyful emotions. The poet watched him off by the river, which shows the depth of friendship between the two.
The whole poem is naturally beautiful, broad and vivid.
