Karamay's "black oil is legendary by the elderly"

Riding a donkey, carrying a gourd full of oil, and playing a violin in winter, this is the discoverer and guardian of Heiyou Mountain, the birthplace of Karamay Oilfield, the first big oil field in New China, where stands a sculpture of the Uighur old man Sailimubayi.

The sculpture of Selimubayi, an old Uighur man, stood by the oil pool of Heiyou Mountain for nearly 500 days, and every day tourists told the beautiful story of Karamay Oilfield here.

1982 1 October1day, the Karamay Municipal Committee set up a pyramid-shaped stone tablet with a height of 2.05 meters on Heiyou Mountain, next to the oil spring with the largest overflow area. The following year, the road leading to Heiyou Mountain was built, and the parking lot and stone steps leading to the top of the mountain were built.
